Just finished a 3 hour long battle to change all 4 spark plugs and coils. 2 coils were hard to get out and when they came out I could see why, they were rusted and bloated. All but 1 spark plug were rusty and quite a lot of carbon deposit on the electrode.
My biggest battle was to reconnect the hose at the bottom of the breather box. What a PITA for big guys with big hands.

Now to get a cold one!

How many miles since the coils/plugs had last been removed?

A pair of extra long, long nose pliers makes that breather hose very easy to reconnect.

Ha ha! Nice work :) after a 3 hour battle, I would have already been 3 cold ones into the fray ;). Well deserved!

At least 6000 miles, that is how long I've own the S10. Previous owner was a good mechanic so I'm guessing he did it maybe at 44k miles, I bought it with 47k.

I did use extra long nose pliers, but still kept sliding off when releasing the clamp, and that meant reset and restart. :(

That’s a bit of a worry if those coil sticks and plugs got in that state in just 9k miles. Does your bike have a fender extender on the front mudguard?
