We used to have quite the club until the track closed the gates. I had 22 of the little buggers in various forms. The rules we had were to maintian the YSR forks, chassis and wheel diameter. To me, that is an open invitation to do what you want. Aluminum swingarms, twin chamber fork internals, 235mm full floating brake rotors, 4 piston differential bore calipers, aluminum rear wheels, big engines of every displacement your imagination can conjur that would work was a road race engine. YZ80/85/105, 125/150/165, 250, 250F, 400F, 426F, 450F/472F/502F/511F, WR200, DT175, YFS200, DT200. I've done bikes for people all over the US but the one that worked best and that made the most sense were the YFS or Blaster 200 engines. With very few mods it could be turned into a wild screamer or you would leave it stock with the pipe that I built with it and have a bonfide 100 mph YSR that could be ridden all day long with no annoying glitches. It was smooth, quiet, fast, and comfortable. And street legal. With a 12v charging system if wanted. We used to race these twice a month for quite a few years. My son even took his CCS license test on the 511F and finished 3rd in a heated students race between him, a GSXR750 and YZF-R6. It was very close.
