It depends on the tire for me. Knobbys wear faster on the front. Mitas e07 lasts a really long time on the front for me ( current one is at 14k) all wear oddly and howl as they wear.

I haven't used a ton of different brand tires; so far, it;s just been Shinko 705's, Bridgestone Battlewings, Mitas E07s and A41's. I've never had a front wear out before a rear. I'm pretty consistent with two rears to each front.

The only tire that did that was the Bridgestone A41. The rest have been 2:1. This A41:

Interesting my battlewings are wearing the front faster than the rear. I use the linked front brakes almost exclusively unless in a rear brake only situation like a u turn or real slippery gravel.

Hmmm.

I use the front lever for braking 90% of the time. Oddly enough my rear brake pads were done at just over 20k and my fronts weren't done at 40k.

Didn't you say your bike has been flashed? Flashed bikes have less engine braking which requires more brake braking. Like Mark's, I replaced my fronts a little past 20k, with maybe 1k more to go. My backs are about halfway. I use the snot out of my engine braking.

And if you brake late, and hard, that's more wear on the front everything.

Yeah my bike has been flashed. That may be a contributing factor.

Have you ever aligned the forks? If they were tweaked just a bit and the wheel wasn't exactly parallel with the forks, it might cause accelerated wear on the front. I have a fork alignment procedure if you want it.

Hmmm yeah if you want to post the process that would be cool. Something to do as the season ends.

I should add that most all of these miles were done in wa state on very twisty roads. Only about 1000-2000 miles on this set was done here on the country straight roads of IL.

I just realized im a dumbass.

I replaced the rear after a puncture and the front was good so i left it.

I confirmed this just now by checking the date code on both tires, my rear is two years newer than the front.

Mystery solved lol.
