Delores is my cousin....(really) We look nothing alike. She's a redhead, and I'm bald.

Hey, I know the woman in the pictures! She is TrilliumLiz of this very forum.

The article, meh. It has the same plot as every women-in-motorcycling article, presented in a horribly disjointed fashion. I wonder if Kate Robertson had something more interesting to say but it was all left on the copy room floor? Perhaps the editors butchered it when they carved it down to the same old same old.

I'm sure Liz's book is better. I'll have to find a copy.
my wife said the exact same thing ::008::

I'm back. I have been away from the forum for a while (getting a book launched) and come back to the forum only to stumble upon this thread! :)

I thought Kate and the paper did a nice job on the article. Bear in mind that this is a premier national (business) daily with a specific target audience. It's the first time to my knowledge that this paper has published such a topic and it was a honor to be a part of it. The photos were excellent (except for helmet head). It's not every day that a motorcycle photo shoot happens in December in this neck of the woods!

We all have lessons to learn throughout life and go through transitions from time to time. Aside from being a whole lot of fun, getting to meet the nicest people (thanks Honda) and feeding our sense of adventure, motorcycling teaches us a lot about ourselves - which is why it's such a good companion. That, in essence, is the theme of my book, Women, Motorcycles and the Road to Empowerment. It's message is for women, men, riders,non-riders - it doesn't matter. And reviewers are noticing that. It's also the reason why you won't see a picture of a motorcycle on/in it. Lots of men are reading - and enjoying it!

Easiest way to get a copy in the US is through amazon; it's also available in kindle and pdf formats. Would love to hear your comments once you've read it!

Actually the wife knows Liz Jansen the girl with the S10. The wife also rides a 2000 Softail with 170000 km on it and its no big deal for her to do 1000 km days when we are on vacation. She is also the Road captain for her club. I think if I suck up a bit more she might let me go no the Whitehorse trip next year. :-[
I'm very familiar with her and her club and often recommend them to riders in their area. They're a great group, inclusive of all kinds of bikes, riders - and do a lot to promote the positive image of riding.
