Any concern about this being "legal" on USFS land? It doesn't say anything about having a spark arrester on the website.
Description
The RS-4 is a versatile design with predicated power and a quiet earthy exhaust note that speaks volumes for performance. This RS-4 features all the benefits of our original RS-4 muffler, but with a unique turned-down end-cap, designed to direct exhaust heat and gases away from the bike's components. With all its benefits in mind, the RS-4 was an obvious choice for the Super Tenere.
Slip-On System includes an RS-4 muffler with turn-down end-cap, stainless steel tail-pipe, low-volume sound insert, installation hardware, and detailed step-by-step instructions.
It seems that because our bikes are plated, it shouldn't matter, but I've read that Rangers will cite a plated bike especially if it's not a "stock" pipe. (found a few threads on ADVRider, but there were lots of "opinions" and it sounded like even some Rangers didn't know how to interpret the law)
Also the Yoshimura website gives conflicting info. On the product details page, it states it's not a street legal pipe, but on the matrix chart for California emissions, it DOES claim to be street legal, which would be "legal" on a FS Road, correct?
Anyone have real world experience with any of this?
Thanks,
Michael
