Hey guys,
Anyone have the Yoshimura RS4 FITTED ? I like the sound with the baffle in as its not to loud but better than standard. Who has taken the baffle out and
A/ does it sound better
B/ does it give any gains in power
C/ does it do anything to the power or torque curve
D/ does it make the throttle reponse better

The allen screw in the exhaust looks a pain to get to but would be willing to give it a go if there are any benefits (see above)
If its offensibly loud then its a no (my sports bike days are over!)

Please let me know your thoughts on what you found when you removed the baffle.

Regards
Jim

I recently experimented with the baffle myself. Purchased a original "D" type silencer.too loud without it IMO.also I think it sounds better especially on decel. My main concern is the fender, seems w/o baffle the exhaust is hitting the plastic section. Is it going to melt on a hot long riding day? Don't want to find out like that:) As far as power or response? Noticed nothing extra probably do to cat still in place.

Taking the baffle out makes it sound really raspy, personally I don't like it and put the baffle back in. If you do get a proper Allen screw for it that you can actually get to. The pipe itself sounds pretty good but I eventually went back to stock, just getting old I guess but I find I like quiet better, plus I like getting 49 mpg with the stocker. The Yoshi will drop your mileage to around 45, which still isn't bad. I leave for work at 0500 and quiet is better for me at least.

I took mine out and like it. I pulled the baffle out and removed the grey metal end cap from the baffle and reinstalled the end cap. This prevents burning the reflector etc.
