Hi Guys

Just a thank you to this forum for the great info and expertise on here.

Since I bought my 2015 S10 I've been adding a few well chosen accessories using the forum to avoid pitfalls where possible.

Well I wanted a top box , a genuine Yamaha one which comes without the lock and key. I ordered a lock and key separately and looked at the instructions , simples !

From the info on the forum it looked far from 'Simples' so I asked the supplying Yam dealer if they wouldn't mind just 'popping the ol lock in there for me' Sure they said no problem.

Three days they had it ! They had to wait for the top mech to comr back to work as the other guys couldn't figure it.

When it was sorted and I went to collect they gave me a healthy discount for the inconvenience. Result !

If it hadn't been for reading this forum id have struggled i'm sure, and paid more for the privilege .

Cheers

Was there not three locks under your seat? My 14 had them in plastic bag.

Ya, mine came with the extra lock (side cases already installed). I think it took me under 1/2 hour to install the lock and take the plate off and putting the screws back in so the top case would mount up.

Hi there

No I have the side cases with the correct locks in but I didn't get the bike new it was a few months old, there was no lock under the seat unfortunately .

Previous owner couldn't find it. Not bothered to be honest. Never had a bike with ignition and luggage matched. Also Yam ignition key is a bit soft so would rather use

a separate key to be honest. I had spare keys cut for the side cases too out of tougher metal blanks. The keys that came with the top box are shorter and seem tougher metal too.

I'm good with it. :)
