Excellent news, and can't wait for your review. ::012::

I will see what happens with the Yamaha UK remap story and then decide. I am tempted to go for Off The Road rather than Diapason and pay the extra for the better service and comms. 8)

Please post your report in the ECU restrictions lifted topic (as well) so we have all the reports centralized.

I would never expect it to be street legal if you are remapping away from the settings that comply with the emissions regs? Just one of those things, and something I can live with!

Regards,

Matt
Chances are it won't affect its street legality here in the UK as stated previously the only regular check is the MoT and that doesnt test emissions. Also it only needs to meet its homologated spec when its sold so after that even official dealers can sell accessories/upgrades. Lotus Cars used to offer an ECU upgrade to its recent (2007) Europa, ie it was sold with ~200bhp and crucialy 225Co/kg so as to fall into a vechicle tax bracket but some left the dealers with the ECU upgrade to 225bhp and unknown CO (but as that was set at sale spec the tax bracket was unchanged) so plenty of scope to upgrade ;D. At least until the anti tamper legislation gets voted into the EuroZone ???

Any more news on UK remapping yet? I get my new bike in 2 weeks and I am getting pretty excited about getting a full fat map...

A source tells me that Yamaha are offering their dealers the software and connectors (for a price) to enable Power Commander style remapping in the shop.
The kit exists albeit in beta form but when it is rolled out, the dealer will be able to tune your bike as you want it and that map becomes yours.

I have yet to find out if they will be able to delete the deliberate power reduction in the lower gears of the new Super Tenere. We wait....
Time to have another chat with him I guess... ::017::

Might have to have a chat with my local dealer - see what he says. As spasm said, most of the big new trailies are putting out big numbers now..The next week will see the Honda XTour and the Triumph Explorer have their press releases, and they come in at 127bhp and 137bhp respectively. It's not that the S10 needs to compete on pure numbers, but having an official full fat version with Yamaha UK back up would be nice.

Hi,

I had a chat with my Yam-dealer today (Bowers, Bury St Edmunds), they hadn't heard any such rumour. One of the techs is going to call the electronics guys at Yam UK and see if there is any further news.
