Well, just don't call me Shirley!
Wait just a little bit now please if you will. I did not know the rules were set from tag to tag ??? I figured part of this game was "gloves on the seat" I hate to be a dick about it but " we have rules for a lot of reasons in life and motorcycle forums" and whatever the "game" well "rules are rules" right, or you disagree with them" My understanding of this (simple enough) game are gloves on the seat-period. It's been part of this from the start, correct me if I'm wrong. Now go start another game or defer to the "game creator" and get a change in the rules if you want to (but he might be sick of it by now-??)Checkswrecks said:The national labs for Red Cross are so close I never closed my visor & the engine never got to warm up - it's 29F here.
(The glove is behind the hand guard in this, which I didn't realize till home. Oh well, it wasn't asked for when the tag was set.)
I was going to wait till going to work tomorrow in DC for a big monument, but since we haven't heard much from our European or Aussie friends, here's what should be a soft ball and the name GATSO says it all.
The dreaded notorious traffic speed camera; lying in wait for it's next victim!
No mention of gloves in the first post... ;DBoostedxt said:I am sure some of you know how this goes....but here it is.
Very simple...
One person will make a request for a photo of your bike next to the object. The other members of the forum must ride and get a photo of their bike next to the object and post it. the first person to post the photo gets to pick the next photo challenge. The old photo and the new challenge MUST be in picture form, except this first one to get the ball rolling. The first person to get a photo of their bike and a fire engine must take a picture of their bike with something else and post that as the next challenge. Make sense?
The first challenge is your bike next to a fire engine!
GO!
If you have questions go for it.
Joe
Thank you Don I stand here corrected-!! And it is a great photo from checkswrecks may I add.Don in Lodi said:No mention of gloves in the first post... ;D
Utah has some speed cameras, but mostly doesn't use that style, but rather ones mounted up high. Oregon has a few of the style shown, (Beaverton comes to mind), but they are not widely used. I'll have to hunt around here, as I don't know if it's a TAG that I can get 'locally'.tomatocity said:Just wondering how many riders do not have traffic speed camera's in your area. Sacramento does not use that style but they have MANY traffic speed camera's.
I'm totally serious, and STOP CALLING ME SHIRLEY! ::008::ThatsLife said:"Surely you can't be serious?"
::025:: Sorry, I couldn't resist!
The TAG is a Speed Camera now. Not the pic of your bike from the speed camera, but your pic of the bike and speed camera.tomatocity said:What TAG are we on?
Cleverly called markers could take this game to the next level...Buelligan said:On other forums, the "gloves on seat", or "gloves on left handlebar", were started because folks would post a pic from the previous year, or some other "old" photo.
Typically, the person who had just recently won, and was selecting the next challenge, would state something like the glove on the seat, or empty mcdonalds wrapper on mirror, as proof that you actually rode to get the pic, and didn't just upload it from your computer without ever stepping outside. We sould call this a "marker".
After all, this IS a game to get us all outside, and RIDING!
Granted, the original creator of this thread didn't put that in as part of the "rules" but I do feel it is a justified addition, just to keep folks honest...
Plus it's fun thinking of new places to make people stick their gloves, and in the case of a tie, sometimes can be the tiebreaker if someone forgets to place the "marker".

All I can say is I was so wrong in my understanding of the "gloves on the seat".Don in Lodi said:"Marker"... ::008::
Yes, Buelligan's explanation cleared that up for me also. I was wondering how taking a picture of your gloves precluded the use of a file photo, now I get the "marker" thing. It takes me a while but I am still somewhat trainable.fender5803 said:All I can say is I was so wrong in my understanding of the "gloves on the seat".
Now I see the purpose and like it. Sad people would cheat but it's a fact of life.
best to all,

Like the way you say that maxified and as you know I agree. Like the pic of your dog as well unless maybe you stole it or used last years and don't even have a dog really ... ha, kidding of course.Maxified said:Yes, Buelligan's explanation cleared that up for me also.
