OK you Yamaha Super Tenere owners; who amongst you also enjoys a Yamaha snowmobile? What is your ride of choice?

Thank you!

For sure some of the most fun I ever had was spending all my per diem on renting Snow Mobiles in Bend OR-!!
I was working on the movie "The Postman" and our unit had some spare time, like Saturdays and Sundays off ;D
What a good time. I don't know for sure what brand they were but probably Yamaha.

Those are some sweet looking sleds. Do you notice a big difference in fuel consumption between the two? And what about performance between the two? Do you use the Venture TF for two-up riding? Do you ever trailer the sleds?

Thank you for sharing.

Nice looking sled! How fast is a sled like that? Is the track mainly about handling or speed or both?

Thank you!

Hi cochise

The 2007 rs is a 1000cc triple and gets a average of 18 mpg and is a really good 2 up trail sled, but I use it mainly solo and 70 off trail and 30 percent on.
The rear seat removes for storage so I can carry my supplies when guiding.
The 2009 MP is a 500cc inline twin and gets a average of 26 mpg I use this one mainly for towing a drag for grooming and ice fishing and riding with the kids.
Both of these sleds are long tracks the RS is a 151" and the MP is a 144".
Nothing compares to the sound and the power curve of the triple.
I do have a trailer but use it very little I'm 500ft from the groomed trail so just leave right from the house.

Oh I think I misunderstood what was meant by "big track". I interpretated that to mean race track, but now I think you meant the drive track. So this sled is setup for deep snow is that right? It sure is a nice looking setup.

That sled right there is for powder, deep stuff.
true story, built it for deep, soft snow. 500cc twin - 80hp @ 11,500, great fuel economy, big track, 110kph is pretty much top speed on old snow. It is not a climber, but will go anywhere in moderate terrain. one of a kind... ::014::

I think I am headed for one of these sleds. That way when the Super Tenere gets put away for the winter, the Yamaha sled comes out to play. No complaining about the weather that way, and more grins per mile! ::015::
