AND, we have been buying 5 dollar a gallon gasoline for a long time.
I have been trying to find gas by the gallon every time up your way - but they insist in selling it to me a litre at a time, at some weird CDN$ rate which always makes it tricky to convert.

:D ;D :))

For all intents and purposes, a litre is a quart. I think a litre is maybe 5% more than a quart. They sell it by the litre, so just multiply by 4 and you're pretty close. I guess they think it sounds like less that way. By the way, a Canadian gallon is 4.5 litres. So if you buy a gallon of something up here, you're getting a tad more. Ah, the life of the poor, deprived northerner.

Send money. R

I purchased the adventure touring accessory package which includes the cases from my Yamaha dealer at the time that I put down the deposit. I like how the cases mount and the looks of them. They will do all that I need.
I purchased the X-Country Terrain and the Adventure Touring packages. I just like the looks of the OEM stuff better. The protection should be more than enough for me. I know all about riding off road and have ridden more tough single tracks than most would ever dream of. I know anything can happen but I wouldn't no more drop this bike than I would my Venture. And I have ridden off road with the Venture too. If I am going to be in places to drop a bike I'll be on one of my dirt bikes.

That second picture looks very Yukon-ish. VERY Yukon-ish. Where is it? R

Very nice. Very nice indeed. It is typical of a lot of the Yukon. In particular, it reminds me of a goat trail just outside of Carcross, Yukon, called Montana Mountain trail. Won't be long now. Thanks. R

Is that goat trail motorized? I'm always looking for a new adventure.
If I get my Super Tenere in July 4 of us are taking off for Alaska. We plan on the Dempster via South Canol then up to Deadhorse then home over the Casiar. Can't wait..

The Montana Mountain trail is indeed navigable. As my off road riding skills are limited, I refer to most anything other than a two lane gravel as a goat trail. You won't be getting close to Carcross unless you decide to go to Whitehorse before you tackle the South Canol.

The South Canol is not a high mountain road. It's a down in the valley river road but the scenery is spectaculary. You will cross numerous creeks full of grayling. There are numerous goat trails that stray off on either side.

The Dempster will blow you away. A unique glimpse of the northern landscape. Wildlife abounds. You'll love it. R
