I think the answer is 4". It's been awhile since I searched for the info, but it is definitely somewhere here on the site.

10cm, I believe to '12 version of the Tall Touring screen was 15cm, something to do with better design of the new model and the adjustable bracket.

https://www.shopyamaha.com/product/details/super-t%C3%A9n%C3%A9r%C3%A9-tall-windshield?b=Street+Motorcycle&d=28&f=2015|196

" This 4mm-thick, hard-coated polycarbonate screen replaces the stock windscreen. The Super Ténéré Tall Windshield is 2” taller than stock and offers improved wind protection for more comfortable touring. It features three adjustable height positions and easy to install. - See more at: https://www.shopyamaha.com/product/details/super-t%C3%A9n%C3%A9r%C3%A9-tall-windshield?b=Street+Motorcycle&d=28&f=2015|196#sthash.8Y1xWaQP.dpuf "

- The stock windshield is 17 1/4" tip to top.

- Each adjuster position is 3/4" or 2 1/4" high to low position.

- $124.99 (USD) Not a bad price for the high quality product you are getting.

- My question: is 2" in height enough

So there advertisement is incorrect. That is good thing.

Thanks for that link, I wasn't able to search find it on here or get the answer from the Yamaha Accessories site

http://www.yamaha-motor.eu/uk/products/motorcycles/adventure/xt1200ze-super-tenere.aspx?view=accessories&partcode=2BS-F83J0-00-00&year=2015

It is confusing though, as iClint's picture demonstrates :)

I have a problem with it just following the short line. It keeps coming back. I look down at the edge and often think that I am going to eat that someday. Really unnerves me.

I've almost eaten my tall wind screen.

I was off road, I was traversing a steep climb that went into a dip and then another steep climb, as I was standing and letting the bike move around underneath me the front came up faster than i could move on the bike and the screen just ever so gracefully touched the chin bar on my helmet.

Now I understand what jwhuls post meant DUH :D

My off-roading days are over now, 'chewing' a screen won't be an issue for this old boy ::008::

I just put one on my 2014 today. Love it. I'm 5' 10" 29" inseam. Every helmet may impact results but I will attempt to explain my results.

Greatly reduced noise on 5he sides of my helmet. I no longer hunch down 2" to get out of the wind.

At 70 MPH I can leave face shield up and it will no longer blow closed.

You can ride without a Hemet at 50mph without wind in the eyes.

Wish I'd bought it a long time ago.

$124.oo list. Sehorn Yamaha charged me $106 w free installation.

Glad to hear good things about this windshield. Also good to hear it works for you.

What is the difference in length, Tip to Top? Comparison photo?

Darn, I already boxed the old up. But I did see the side by side in another post somewhere - a very long post. This one does have the smoke colored sides and Tenere Logo. It also has some molding for rigidity toward the bottom.

Thanks for the reply. I saw the same photo but it did not show tips of the windshields just the tops. The reason I ask is because Yamaha says the tall windshield is 2" higher and the photo shows it is about 4" taller. If it is 2" taller I don't need to purchase it but at 4" taller I would.

It is 4" taller. Installed it last week along with the winglets. I'm 6.3 and I'm very happy with the tall screen.

Does anyone have the Tall OEM Windscreen installed with the Rox 2" Pivot risers? Want to make sure there is Handlebar to Windscreen clearance.
