Any luck finding the handles?
What happened to your old ones? It will be after I get home from Ouray, but I don't have plans for my take offs. Value?

Probably what happened to mine. Wolfman duffle bag rubbed the finish off of them laid cross the seat instead of long ways. I didn't have a problem with the across the seat layout until the bag got damp on the bottom from laying it in wet grass while packing up. It picked up dirt on the bottom I guess then during the ride it took the silver finish off the grab handles. Year or so later I just dont't worry about it any more. Especially after I priced a set of new ones. $92 a piece!! no thanks Yamaha you can keep them and I will live with the ones I have. Now that mine are scratched up I dont' worry I throw anything across them. ::021::

I will attempt to mount them in an upside down configuration to protect my beautiful dual exhaust.
It might be a stupid idea, but for starters it is the least expensive until I find a set of panniers and mounts that I like.
I think the second set of handles mounted upside down with some modifications will do the trick.
