Not sure why but I always find myself passively shopping for WR250Rs. I don't have room in the garage anyway, but out of curiosity how much would you guys who own this bike now or have in the past pay for this?

http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/mcy/4931208864.html

Looks like one of those guys who bought the bike and slapped on just about every farkle he ever read about on the WR forum (damn forums!!), only to discover he'd rather watch TV on the weekends than ride. $1600 in add-ons amortized over 423 miles. Ouch city!

Hey, I'm not immune to that disease either. But what do you think he would take for this bike? And what are the top three things I should check if I get that far?

Thanks, brothers. ;)

I just got back from Death Valley and rode over 200 miles on one day (IMS 4.6 gallon tank on mine) and have mine farkled to the n'th degree.
The motor is all by bullet proof. Very few weaknesses in the "bones" of the bike.
Check the steering head and lower triple for major impact. Make sure he has NOT lowered the front sprocket gearing. It will allow the chain to eat in to the swingarm, quickly.
Otherwise, I'd jump all over it!!! The programmer is easy to use so don't be overly worried about this. It is next to impossible to run it too lean.
He has a solid foundation of mods. Go for it! Price really isn't too bad with the mods he has. Offer him $6k, settle in the middle.
Call.me when you have it. I'll go over what to do with it.

We do not live too far apart, and I have room in my garage. So, when you want to use it, just come over and grab it. Problem solved. Let me know when you want to ride up to pick it up.

Thanks, ff & teach. I'm tempted. I own a KTM 500 EXC for f's sake, but honestly that bike scares me a little. More accurately, I scare myself on that bike. I had no dirt background but bought it anyway. Reckless used to so fun, but at 56 it just hurts more and longer. The WR is probably more my speed.

Funny, Josh. So you're willing to "store" the WR for me? Might actually be a good symbiotic relationship. Call me if you're serious.

I foolishly bought a CBR500R for my wife last year (thinking I could convert her into a rider) and have been trying to unload it since about three months after that. 2014 model (non-ABS) with less than 600 miles. Pristine, all but about 30 of those miles logged by me during meticulous break-in, and just f'ing around (it's a fun bike, just too small for my arthritic knees). As soon as I sell that bike I'm in the market again.

How new is it? Hours. (The Bike)
You rascal, I coulda probably taken you to the cleaners on it and not bought mine and sunk dough into farkles. LOL

But I do agree on the hurts lasting longer.

Hey True grip.......... Buy arjayes a brand new WR and trade it for the EXC. >:D
Yea, you'll need to wrench it a bit more. (ok ok, a lot more)
But you won't be able to wrench that grin off your face.

That sounds like a great plan except I'll be like Greg and have to explain myself to momma. She is getting a new house this year (our retirement place) so the vault is closed for a while. One of these days I'll be as old as the rest of you guys and will build back my stable. Will enjoy the day when it comes! Be looking for me one of these days for a tour of BB. I just keep dreaming!

I'm not selling the EXC, just thinking about adding something a little less gnarly and high-maintenance to screw around on. Have to sell a Honda to sell first, though. We have a 3-bike (and 0-car) garage and it's full right now. If I had a barn like you I'd probably fill it with bikes - like you! Kind of glad I don't have that predicament!!

Geez...I wish I could have a one car garage (for my wife) and a 4 plus bike garage...sadly in this shit climate, I need a car for half the year.

The 690 enduro is a killer bike. Don't see them come up for sale around here very often. And the dealers don't get many new ones either. Happy shopping!!

You wouldn't be the first Kanookian to become a snowbird and avoid that problem.

Not to be preachy BUT, let's not give the liberal dimwits any more reasons to take away our riding areas. ::005:: It is becoming increasingly difficult to keep our riding areas open these days. It doesn't take much.

No offence taken You make a good point. I kinda pictured this ride way out in the boonies. Bruce will keep me out of trouble.
