I wish the breakers would learn to leave rotors and other parts intact. I mean really, they don't make that much money on used brake rotor bolts or used rotors either, for that matter. Having to buy the rotor, ABS sensor ring, bolts, and potentially a set of cush drive rubbers and the cush drive assy make it more spendy, but still a respectable deal since you don't see them often.

Even appears to have a good tire ! Paid $350 for a 12,000 mile rim a few years ago , after rim arrived in great condition I bought rotor and holder from same seller for I think another $100 but the bolts I ordered from my local dealer. i Don’t think my seller was pinwall

The disassembled rear rims come up quite a bit. The front ones are hard to find due to crash damage. I understand why they remove the parts. It's a business and they make a fair chunk of change when you think of it in terms of hundreds of wheels and parts being sold.

A riding buddy of mine made a living for quite a few years as a motorcycle dismantler on Ebay. He told me on more than a few occasions that you have to take emotion out of the equation. An example was a fully restored old DT250 Yamaha that ran perfect. He took it apart down to the last bolt. I was sickened by it. Then I understood. He made many times more than what he paid for it.

Just to say, a properly reconditioned ST spoke rim with properly tightened spokesshould turn at least like this :

I made mine with roughly one millimeter of alteration tolerance instead of the two millimeters given by the tech specs, I was a bit lucky on that one...

Yes and no. On a current model bike they often attempt to sell the parts for more than a new part costs. Wrecking yards raise prices based on frequency of sale, the higher volume parts getting higher prices. But they rarely check the actual prices of new parts. I lost track of the times I had to show the yard what the new part cost, then offer them half of that for the used part before they would drop their prices.

And who buys a used piston on a current bike? Taking damaged things apart is one thing, taking a good running engine apart and trying to sell those individual parts takes forever, compared to selling a good running engine for more $$$. When I needed a used engine for a BMW, I couldn't find one. Dip sticks took good engines apart and I'm not buying that crap, who knows what they screwed up tearing it down? Ditto for tearing apart a wheel in good condition. You would make more on the assembly when you consider the cost of a new wheel built from parts.
