These tires have 15,000 miles and I'm mounting another set.
I started out at 36/42 then after about 10,000 switched to
42/46 . Upping pressure didn't seem to help . Tire rode ok ?

That tire wear is something. I like you started at 36/42 and then went the other way to 33/42. I only have 5k miles on my set and have not noted any unusual wear on the front. I will see what happens as the miles add up.

Mine did the same thing on my KLR. It was my fault....low PSI and once started the bad wear pattern, then it was a balance issue. My lack of attention wasted my tire.

My battlewing did the same thing...Someone said it was from trail braking....could be low tire pressure....15K miles I'd say you got your moneys worth.

So what are the high mileage K60 riders running front pressure at
and do your front's look like mine at this mileage ?

I think it says on the side of the K60's that the max recommended pressure is 36 psi. I'm on my 3rd set and I've never seen wear like that on the rear, but I have had chopping on the front. In fact, every front has had a chopped wear pattern, but I still get 8K or better out of them.

There's nothing wrong with that tire. I run 36psi on the fronts, 42 on the rears. I'm on my 4th front K60 (this one finally didn't leak air slowly!) and they all wear like that. If you look at the tread block design, you'll see that right and left of the center line of tread blocks are not the same. With mine, they wear to around 12-15k and then one side is wonky, ride some more and it evens out, ride some more and the other side gets wonky, then it evens out again. I've ridden two fronts to 22k+. One I took off at 12k and put back on with a new rear K60 and finished them off together at 12k on the rear and 24k on the front, which was really at the wear bars that time! One I just tossed at 12k because it was getting wonky and I didn't feel like living with that and a fresh rear again.

It is not the smoothest running tire when they are in the wonky stage, and tends to pull a little to one side, but it does even back out if you keep running them.

Thats good to know , I actually believe I'm getting better off road traction with the front now than when it was new ! I'm trying 38/40 psi on next set.

I had a set installed in Alaska at a privateer shop that has mounted many sets on Big Trailies and they recommended 34psi f&r. I assume because of stiff sidewalls, and this served me well! I was fully loaded and I weigh about 280lbs. in gear.
