I ended up riding with a fellow shipmate ::003:: that has a FZ-07, next to my S10 it just reinforced how much the Super Yammi is a true "dual sport" as i still call it. ::26:: We followed the St. Johns river from downtown Jax to A1A (St Augustine) and we hit a few sandy roads and with my K60's i was laughing at how slow my bud was driving. :)) I'm not the most experienced rider but my bike gives me confidence and a great motorcycle to cruise around on and off roads. I just have a hard time deciding if i want to keep my side hard cases on for a cruise. ::002:: Either way "winter" down here in Florida is great, alot better than Oklahoma for the time of month. ::021::

I like riding down from Jax on 13 near the St. Johns albeit that's a bit far for a day ride & return from the mid left coast of FL. I do like being able to ride year round but have gotten so used to the warmer temps I have to dig out the electric liner when it gets down to the mid 50's. :D

We ought to hold a RTE at the Blackwater Inn sometime. Could draw a few ST's from the central & northern FL areas perhaps.

i am Lucky enought to pass most of my winters in Florida on my super t (living in montreal canada) and if you take the right roads it's just paradise. the air, the light, the ocean, all the motorsports events and it's cheap and simple. i actualy roadrace, mx track, and street ride all winter in fl, love the place.

Twelve years ago in I moved to Fl. in preparation for retirement. Florida has great riding weather except for the heat of the summer and the roads are flat and straight. If I had it to do over again I'd give might be in N. Ga.. Better riding without the heat of summer but the trade off is a brief winter and a rare snowfall.

Saturday I was in the Everglades playing in the Big Cypress National Preserve. There's about 40 miles of marked gravel/sand/mud roads in the Park. While on Janes Scenic Drive in the Fakahatchee Strand Preserve I had a 10 minute wait for a 12 foot to get off the track. Seems he was enjoying the sun and wasn't about to be detruded by a man and a motorcycle.

Paul, would that be a 12 foot gator o a python. i understand you have both now. I had some experience with each (crocs not gators) in Vietnam and didn't care for either.

I got spoiled riding in Wisconsin all summer. Now Florida riding seems more boring than ever. The good news is I rather be bored riding than just plain bored.

I kept an eye out for a python but none was to be seen.
Down here gators are no big deal, we get use to them being around. They're in my back yard pond and I kayak among them.
I always try hard NOT to piss then off!

The snow birds are easy to spot, they're the ones I shorts and flip-flops. ::025::
