I have fabbed and mounted two cowl supports on my Super T just like the type that some fellow from the UK makes and sells on this site. The supports helped the cowl/windshield shake, but it isn't entirely gone over rough roads and off-road is a nightmare. You'd like the front end was coming apart. I have ensured that the noise isn't coming from any accessories I've added rubbing or hitting together and I do have the tall Yamaha screen.

Are there any other supports that folks have made, or, pre-load shims strategically placed, that will eliminate the shaking and associated noise?

Not sure, but I think just like the turn signals are made to "bend, not break", maybe so is the windshield made to move a little. Willow vs. oak type of thing.

Not sure about the willow idea, but the plastic vertical pieces it attaches appear to be sacrificial, so they don't impale somebody in an accident. On the upside, the frame they are part of was only $83 the last I checked.
