I've got the Givi installed on my bike. I'm 6' 3" but my inseam is only 31 inches....so most of my height is in my torso. I'd probably be about 6' 8" if my legs were proportionate with my torso :( At any rate, the Givi is about 5 inches taller than the stock wind screen. It lowers the wind noise enough for me to use the blue tooth in my helmet, and it deflects most of the bugs up over my helmet....but there is still quite a bit of air....which if it's 105 F might not be a bad thing. I still look way over the top of the thing. I could probably use about 3 inches more....errr windscreen that is. But it ain't bad now.
Are you talking about the standard Givi or the Givi airflow?

I am 99.9% sure I am just going to get the Madstad setup w/ screen. I would love to try the Airflow but its just so damn ugly... and it looks like a paint to clean.

Hey Rowdy Dave,
Glad you found something that works for you. Also that you used search feature ::008::
FWIW I am 6'4" in my boots and have the CalSci tall screen but also bought the CalSci short screen, the dark tinted one.
I also got and tried the side deflectors Yamaha has. I am now using the short screen with no side deflectors and really like the wind flow and it is also nice for the hot weather. Very little buffeting.
When it turns cooler here I will go back to the tall screen with side deflectors and maybe try the adjustable Madstad bracket if it's in my budget then.
Just saying ... ::022::

as a next step, you should try the Wind Deflectors.

No, it is really easy as the top section just pull out making it a very easy job ::008::

Stll damn ugly, but I go for function over form every time - or else I would not be on the Tenere in the first place ;)

Thnx - I'm enjoying the XL Parabellum ..... even with the heat we are experiencing back here in Kansas!! I'm 5' 17" (makes the wife not feel so short when I say that ::025:: she's 5'2") anyway nice to have the air move around and over (bugs too!) instead of pounding me. I may look into the side deflectors someday too.

My next project is a new saddle to make those long rides more comfortable, and some helmet communicators. After that it's time for a road trip ::008::

Thinking about heading to Loveland CO to see my son and ride around out there ..... I hear there are a few pretty places to ride in the area ::013::

Sure would like to ride north to Wyoming and the Yellowstone area ..... if not this summer then definitely next year.

This fall we'll be riding through Missouri and Arkansas as the leaves change - can't wait for the cooler fall weather.

take care - dave
