Looking for some ideas/feedback on what windshield would be best for me and my Tenere. Most of my riding will be on highways and back roads ... very little off road. I'm 6'5" and feel like I need a taller windshield. How about the California Scientific model? Has anyone tried the Touratech Windshield Adjustment bracket with GPS mounting bar: http://www.touratech-usa.com/Store/PN-046-0622/Windshield-Adjustment-Bracket-with-GPS-Mounting-Bar-Yamaha-XT1200Z-Super-Tenere.

Any recommendations and guidance would be appreciated! ::013::

I am also 6'5" and am having no luck finding a good setup. I tried the cal sci large and it is WAY tall. It felt like having an ironing board strapped to the front of the bike. I could feel the bike trying to push it through the wind. Plus I still had buffeting on the top of my helmet.

I also tried the madstad bracket with the stock screen and could not find anything that worked over 70 mph.

I put the cal sci on with the madstad but it was sooooo tall and it kind if wiggled in the wind which made me nervous and was very distracting to ride with.

Riding without the screen makes the bike feel much better but it isn't a great solution, especially for highway.

There is a thread going about the Givi Airflow , I might check that out next.

I don't know if it would work for you but I was using the Yamaha touring screen with Wasp's adjuster and could never find a happy spot. I am 6-1" and with that screen I had a hard time finding an average spot with it that I liked without re-adjusting it.

I changed to to the stock screen with the adjuster at full up, full front at bottom and about 10% leaning back on the top adjuster and It works for me in most conditions now. At speed on the road the wind flow is about 1" above my helmet. The air flow at the bottom works for me in the slower areas and a small screen at slower speeds allows more air around it.

The front to back adjustment on the top will change the air flow over you at speed. The stock screen may or may not work for you at 6'-5" with the adjuster

I am 6'4" tall and bought a 24" Parabellum. It works very good for me....easy to see over and I can ride with my face shield open on my full face helmets. It looks good, fits great, and does not look too big. My shield has no clearance problems or interference with the handguards with 1" riser equipped handlebars. FYI

Hey everyone .... thnx for the feedback so far. Apparently I'm not the only one who has faced this issue and there isn't an easy solution ::010::

However, I found the website for Parabellum, contacted them and ordered the X Tall model .... I'll be anxious to get it installed and take it for a ride!!

thnx - dave

Again .... thnx for the feedback everyone. Especially the "Search" recommendation ..... DUH!! That is much faster and to the point .... however, I have enjoyed scrolling through the various topics looking for info.

I've learned a lot and found a BUNCH of ways to spend more $$$$$ on my bike ::012:: I see a tank bag, helmet communicators and possibly a custom seat in my future ::008::

hANNAbONE - based on what whisperquiet shared I contacted Parabellum. Nice to know you enjoy yours too. I talked to Charlie - nice guy - he said I should go with the X Tall 26" model and if after trying it I wanted it shorter just send it back, cover the shipping and he'd trim it to whatever height I want.

Can't wait for it to arrive, install it and take a long ride ::26::

I am between the Parabellum and the Airflow myself. I think the Parabellum looks better but the Airflow has been getting rave reviews. Not to mention the Airflow is adjustable so you can dial it in exactly how you want.

I have the 24" Parabelem installed in the lower holes. Had to trim
the bottom of the shield to fit around directionals. Love the shield
and can now see over it. Even the wife says no more buffiting.
5' 11" 32" inseam seat in high position.

Hey everybody .... my Parabellum showed up yesterday ::013::

Installed it and got my first ride in today .... WOW! It's everything I'd hoped for and looks great ::015::

Charlie at Parabellum was great help and provided outstanding service.

I ordered it late on Friday 6/29, figured it would be shipped Monday 7/2 and reach me a week later.

What a nice surprise when UPS showed up at my door on Thursday 7/5 ::008::

Hope everyone had a safe and Happy 4th ::012::

thnx for all the feedback - dave

I've got the Givi installed on my bike. I'm 6' 3" but my inseam is only 31 inches....so most of my height is in my torso. I'd probably be about 6' 8" if my legs were proportionate with my torso :( At any rate, the Givi is about 5 inches taller than the stock wind screen. It lowers the wind noise enough for me to use the blue tooth in my helmet, and it deflects most of the bugs up over my helmet....but there is still quite a bit of air....which if it's 105 F might not be a bad thing. I still look way over the top of the thing. I could probably use about 3 inches more....errr windscreen that is. But it ain't bad now.

If you are not using it already, try the Madstad bracket. It will give more height and will be more adjustable.
