Any issues with the plastic subframe for the adjustable metal windshield mount not holding up?
I need to use a Touratech mount (https://touratech-usa.com/Store/12mm-to-12mm-GPS-Bracket-Adapter) that moves my Garmin a few inches up and away from the stock 12mm accessory bar so it does not contact the windshield.
Is the subframe strong plastic? Delrin maybe?

I'm concerned that the additional torque forces might stress the plastic subframe.

Many of us have a GPS mount on the Gen2 windshield cross bar. I have a RAM X thingie on mine.

The plastic mount is fairly strong, as it needs to support the windshield, headlights, and fairings. Members who've broken them have been able to buy new for $80-90 and then do the labor. We also have folks who've put theirs back together with screws and metal scraps. (Photo below is a Gen1 that's been used off-road pretty hard.)

The bike in the bottom pic looks like a flood recovery!

I'll be putting on the Touratech arm above and this

The only other option I have is this

I prefer the first one.

There are brackets available that stiffen the accessory bar.

They are out of stock at the moment, but will be available in a few weeks. Inexpensive and effective.

I don't know about the accessory bar,
but my fairing bracket broke on my 2011. About 70k km of ownership. new one was $90 or so.

that said, I do have a 6" rigid on the front, so that probably had something to do with it.

Mine is never ridden hard. :D
