So after years of riding different styles on my cruisers I've realized there are a few different types of folks. First, those who prefer no windshield. A bit of the "hardcore" old school Harley chopper, dirt bike rider types, and open cafe racer or tracker style dudes. Second in the running are the full windshield barn door folks. Face it, looks aren't really a factor there. Then third you have the full fairing types. Think radio, luxury, etc. Well on my HD Dyna I had a small quarter fairing, which takes that chest kicking wind off ya, yet leaves the face and head in clean air. However, on my StreetGlide I liked the full fairing and that pristine pocket of turbulent free air.
Now with the Super Tenere and research on the forum, I've realized there are 2 different types of windshield folks as well. You have those who want a tall shield taking the wind over their helmet and attempting to attain the pocket of blissful air, and those who prefer a smaller shield aimed at the chest/neck to ultimately the leave the head in clean air in the absence of buffetting , yet remove the chest pressure from the wind pounding. I prefer the larger shield. I too like my head in clean air with a smaller shield, but then your neck takes a beating at 80mph. I'm sitting at 6'1" with whatever inseam and run a Vstream sport tour (the middle sized one) and have the thing aimed forward a bit. Not bad I shall say.
Whats your style?
