Why do you recommend thet madstadt bracket ? The stock Tenere since 2014 already include the heigh settings, is it improve stability ?
A few reasons:
1) It offers the ability to adjust the tilt of the windscreen, not just height. Basically, more opportunity for customization.
2) I like the crossbar better than the OEM. Slightly wider diameter and feels a bit more solid. But honestly, it's been a long time since had the OEM one.
3) The side brackets give it a bit more vertical stability/rigidity. I think this may help with turbulence, but also gives more support if going with a windscreen taller than OEM. It takes some of the wind load. At the time I bought the Madstadt, these brackets weren't part of the standard package. After adding them as an option, I felt there was some general improvement in performance and a bit more confidence in the overall solidity of the system.

I'm 5'10, 30" inseam. 50K + enjoyable miles with the Yamaha accessory "tall" screen and a cheap Amazon adjustable spoiler clipped on the top edge. Only complaint would be that it works too well, no airflow to the face/chest for ventilation. (excellent in the rain though!)

Is this tall Yamaha windscreen gen 2 specific or does it fit all generations? Part #? Been looking for one for my 2023 but wasn't sure if the ones I found labeled for a 2012 would fit the later models. Thanks

The bolt pattern for both gens is the same where it bolts to the bike. The difference is the bolt pattern on the adjuster. So a '12 screen won't fit a '23's adjuster. You can swap a couple of trim pieces and remove the adjuster, then the early screens will bolt right up to the later bikes, but most people aren't looking to do that.

Gen I bikes, '12-'13, did not have a windscreen adjuster. '14-on do. One down side to the adjuster is it places the windscreen farther from the rider, which for some, causes more buffeting/turbulence. (I had a '12 and a '15. For my needs, removing the adjuster and installing the Gen I screen on the later bike was nirvana.) I was running a Cal Sci medium screen. I tried a MadStad, but it didn't help my buffeting issue. Solid bit of kit though.

I was very close to pulling the trigger on that Touratech adjustable screen but ended up going with the Givi instead. Im very happy with the Givi, but I think i would have been very smug with the engineering behind the Touratech version
