Well, that was unusual.
As a non-combat Vet, I agree with some of what you're saying. This is a health crisis and it should be dealt with as such, not a political one. The segments of our population with the greatest risk for spreading and catching this should have the priority to be vaccinated. That doesn't stop me from getting vaccinated as soon as I can, but I was fine with waiting. Like all of us, I'd like to feel like I can travel again with some concept of safety, in terms of not catching or unknowingly spreading this virus.
FWIW, in terms of benefits, I basically don't exist in the VA system, despite my 7 years of service. And I can't say I'm all that happy with how the VA treated my Dad, a Korea combat Marine, either.
