Easy fix: let Walmart pharmacy, Walgreens, etc. roll out the vaccines. I see so many states setting up huge public covid testing events, why not just jab 'em with the vax at these things instead of simply testing?Just watched biden get his second dose of the vaccine. While the rest of the country is trying to get their first dose, but can't, because it's sitting in freezers waiting for local/state/federal government agencies to get off their asses.
Prior to the vaccine's approval, that was what they were saying the plan was. Reportedly, Walgreens, and CVS were in talks with the government to coordinate the dispensing. . . . so. . . . where did the wheels come off? Why don't the pharmacies have the product? They knew it was coming.Easy fix: let Walmart pharmacy, Walgreens, etc. roll out the vaccines. . . .
I think that's still the plan. I think part of the problem is the number of front line workers refusing it making it difficult to say when that tier of innoculations are done. In NY, the law is so strict they're not allowed to move to the next tier until all the front line first tier people have been vaccinated. They are actually fined if they do so and at least in one case a center's vaccine supply was taken away from them. Not sure what percentage of front line workers are expected to take it but it seems expectations are too high. I say fine, if someone on the front line refuses it, then go to the back of the line and inoculations should move the the next tier. I know in Riverside CA, they ran out of folks on the first tier that wanted the vaccine with left over, already reconstituted vaccine, so they offered it up to anyone else that wanted it instead of trashing it. Completely sensible but they got caught in controversy for doing it. It's just stupid.Prior to the vaccine's approval, that was what they were saying the plan was. Same here. . . . as long as they decide to administer the 2nd dose.Already had my first vaccination second one on the 27th of this month.
I've been listening to Bloomberg news and they've been interviewing on this. Basically, the experts are saying pretty close to what you did. The Feds have been getting the stuff to the States but the patchwork of uncoordinated State and local Govts have been the problem with all sorts of issues including such bureaucracy.I think that's still the plan. Most of the time I would prefer to live in a more liberal and less socialist country than I am, but regarding distribution and administration of the vaccine I'm very pleased with how things are handled here in DK.Had a check-up this morning and asked the doc if he had any idea about when us in the 65+ group would be up. He rolled his eyes and said our State is so screwed up that the majority of health care workers haven't yet had a chance.
sigh
A literal Eton Mess?Quite frankly our roll out is stupid and makes no sense. Mind you thats to be expected with rhe idiots we have in charge. If it was war time we may as well just surrender.
