I am in New jersey and plan on taking some time in July to ride in Vermont, New Hampshire, maybe even Canada.
I would trailer my bike to a central place, and stay in enclosed places or camp in my trailer ::021::since I don't have camping gear yet and havn't ridden extended distances.
Looking for someone who has some off-road knowledge of the area or wants to find some of these areas.

Use some of that vacation time!

Not sure how off you want your off-road I can recommend the Puppy Dog trail. Runs from the North Western MA up through VT to the Canadian Border. I have run parts of it but not all. Here is a link to more info.

Its mostly dirt and back roads.

If your in the area I may be able to ride one day.

Hey Fishcat, in case you want to do practice runs, these areas are in your immediate vicinity so to speak, both have unmaintained roads like compact dirt, gravel, flooded areas. Wharton also has everyone's favorite sand ::001::

Which areas are you referring to?
I've done a lot of the sand in Southern NJ and don't particularly enjoy it. Too flat.
I prefer gravel roads, double track, twisties and hills and mountains.

darn, i mean to include area maps :D

This is at exit 1 of Rt80, on NJ side. River rd/Old mine rd. It's a nice ride and you have unmaintained roads there, especially further up the river.

this is prolly where you went wharton with sand, dirt, mud, more sand and ticks

Then there is good stuff in central PA 7 mountain region. They have nice trails there just like you like and single tracks.

And if you want to see how good your skid plate really is, look up Pachaug state forest in CT

Starting off in Greenfield, my old stomping grounds. I will be trying out the first leg in the coming weeks for sure.

Re: WHO WANTS TO RIDE IN NEW ENGLAND FROM JULY 21 to JULY 34 ?

::015::Well, I was thinking of towing my bike in the trailer and parking it at a campground in central Vermont and doing day trips to the north, east, south and west.
I plan on starting there on July 21.
Anyone recommend a base camp?
Anyone interested in some day trips? ::012::

Off road is better than busy roads!
