This happened on my 2014 today. I bought it used Oct 2016 with 9K on the odometer. It was my primary bike until I bought my 2016ES in Jan 2021, which now has 153K and is my long distance tourer and rally bike. Other than routine maintenance and wear items both have had no problems to speak of. I did mangle the head/valves of the 2014 because I never performed a valve check until it wouldn't start one day at 199K. I recommend to do valve checks every so often :) Now I try to do them once year. I change oil/filter every 8000 miles and use whatever 10w40 synthetic motorcycle oil AutoZone has that day, currently its Valvoline.
A great hard working bike!

Don't know if Steve Reno posts over here or not but his 2012 is nearing 350K miles.
I think Steve’s first one has cracked 350 I believe.

And I thought his second is around 200+ already.

Fantastic motorcycles!!!!!

Impressive mileage. It sure helps to live down south and be able to get out year round. Like the oil comment too. Today's oils are all very good. Way better than in the 70's.

My Suzuki V-Strom had 437,000 miles on it when I retired it. So the Tenere is a little over half way there :)
That’s incredible mileage! Was that a highly maintained bike, or basic maintenance? Any major failures/breakdowns?

I have detailed write ups on ADV and Stromtrooper if you'd like to check them out. Basically it was just routine/basic maintenance. I had the front brake light switch go bad, the water pump impeller separate from its shaft, a stator replacement and few clutch slave seal replacements. No major issues other than when I sold it, the rear cylinder base gasket was leaking. The new owner is going to fix it up and get it to 500K. It was at its useful life's end IMO.
