The Outback topbox fits on the Alt Rider rack and is easily removable as required. The Bumot will need drilling and bolting on. Therefore making it harder to remove.
Plus the Givi looks better. :)

If I buy any of the aluminum system like, Jesse, Nomad, etc. can I use them later on another bike like KTM or BMW. OR are these bike specific only.
Thanks
Unless they are panniers with a cutout for exhaust, then yes.

I took my Happy Trails off my KLR650 and with a different mounting system use them on my Tenere, no cut out, not sure why it is needed to be honest.

I have the 31/38 Touratech Zego Pros in black anodized and love them. All you need to transfer to a different bike is the TT specific mounting brackets for that bike.

Hey guys - the Holan Nomada panniers with the cutout can be used on another bike; you just need to buy the Holan rack for your new application with the exhaust cut out and your existing panniers will hang right on there. We had a customer last year sell his F800GS and move to a Super Tenere, and all he needed was to buy the new rack. The exhaust cut does cost a small amount of capacity, but really makes up for it in a narrow system profile.

I need to verify the same for BUMOT....I *think* that the cutout is standard on all applications except the F800GS, but will verify. If that's the case...same deal as Holan; just get new racks and off you go.

Thanks!

toura tech has come out with a new pannier, its called zega mundo... the rack is the same but the boxes are less money... rack and two boxes zega mundo are 1200.00, were as zega pro are 1700.00... the mundos are made differently, and are unfinished(no paint or anodizing) raw aluminum...they look really good, the guy in seattle says they look good, just not as fancy made as the zega pros.....also the original zegas are no longer being made....

Hi guys, I know buying cheap isn't the way to go but from what I've seen I can save some money on the Holans & I like they way they look. Can anybody comment on the quality and satisfaction of there Nolans ? I've never bought Alum side boxes before so I really don't know about any of the different manufactures quality.
Thanks

Hey guys - first-time poster here (be gentle)... I'm in some what of a similar dilemma, but have been between the Caribou (Peilican), Bumot, and Jesse - from least- to most-expensive. My previous bike was a 2004 BMW R1150R, and I had the BMW system cases for it. 90% of the time I left them off the bike - just used them when I needed them. However, I ALWAYS kept the old Givi top case on - and transferred it to the ST when I got it last fall.

Caribou/Pelican have a LOT of positives: virtually indestructible - won't dent or deform in a tip-over, built-in carrying handles, solid Hepco-Becker racks - that can be largely removed when not in use (no scaffolding), waterproof, USA company, etc. BUT... they're a bit boxy and aren't fitted around the pipe, so they hang out in the breeze more than the Jesses or Bumots. (38")

Jesses are gorgeously made, fit very tightly to the bike (33" for the 79L combo!), have a really cool mounting rack that actually looks good on the bike, are somewhat aerodymically angled, and provide more liters of packable storage per inch of width than just about anything out there. But... they're about 50% more expensive ($400) than the Caribou setup.

Bumots are kind of in the middle - very sturdy aluminum boxes, universally liked and well-reviewed, nice tight-fit to the bike (36"), and are kind of between the Caribou and Jesse case price-wise. Rack looks a bit more "industrial" when the cases are off the bike, tho.

Given that I will probably leave the cases off the bike when I'm not travelling, I'm leaning towards either the Caribous or the Jesses. Just need to decide how much money I'm willing to part with. ;D

I know of 2 guys here on the Tenere Forum that have arrived at home to find a Jessee bag missing from their bike. Both fell off somewhere on the road never to be found, losing the bag and its contents forever, that for me would be hard to accept. I got these guys in touch with each other and now one of them has a full set of bags again, the other guy chose a different brand for the replacements.

I've had all 3 and the Bumots win, for me. I've had 2 sets of Jesse bags in the past and they all leaked as well as the ones my friends on GSs have, doesn't mean they all leak but the odds are good they will IMO. Pelican styling wasn't what I wanted but they are tough and waterproof. I wanted top loading bags myself so Bumont won out.

Based on YOUR requirements, I'd go with Pelicans.

My 2013 came with the Yamaha bags and I like them. The are on the smaller side ,don't fit a helmet.IThey seem very good quality and are mounted solid.Locks do need a spray of wd40.Bag liners are bonus.I don't like bags that are out too far.

I bought and fitted TRAX aluminium panniers, 36L for left and 42L for right. These are direct copies of Touratech boxes and will take all accessories. Very good build quality and tough as old boots, they have saved bike from damage whilst falling over and show no damage. They really look the part too and they have good locks which can be synchronised for one key to fit all. Watertight and quick release system, I have had these for 2 years and can't recommend them enough.

Has anyone had experience with solobox panniers? They look nice and the price of $340 for a set is tempting.

I have Holan Nomada Pro and really like them. I have never had any rain water get into the bag. I really like the way they fit the bike, I have the 38L on both sides. Left side with cutout has the capacity of a 31L.
