It's time to arrange farkles before the new bike is ready, what engine bars are people using? I was thinking Givi but there are many others out there, I'm in Swansea so Touratech is only up the road but I've heard of them bending, the Yam ones seem expensive and don't cover the side covers. I've heard good things about the Heed ones but not on the S10. I'd thought about Rumbux but getting them to the UK is a nightmare! Any thoughts?

Check AltRider. I am going to order silver bars and skid plate from them.

YoYo, I can only talk about products I have and tested, but the AltRider bars and ADC skidplate make a great pairing. I bought the silver colored AltRider bars and because they are Stainless Steel construction. Any scrapes or nicks,I think will blend and not show rust.

Living in your area I would think rust and corrosion is a real problem.

Good Luck

Hi there I have Givi off eBay Europe paid £146.00 to the door, bike went over twice last year fully loaded hardly a scratch on them and no damage to the bike apart from a slight scratch to the left hand guard. They are also perfect for mounting spot lights.

I have the Hepco & Becker lower bars on mine, robust and they don't spoil the view of the carbon fiber side panels. They have the option to be extended (very like the O/E Yam' bars) to a full 'loop' around the upper fairing too if required ::008::

Time to toss a coin! A mate has the sw motech bars, can the side covers be removed with them in place?

Me too, happy enough with them, they look sturdy, but I have not tested them, nor do I wish to.

I had the Givi bars on my last S10, luckily I never tested them, they seemed solid but did rust quote a bit, the plan was to take them off my old S10 and fit to the new one but when I saw all the rust I didn't bother.
I have just ordered the OEM bars, not so good at side protection if it goes over on rough ground but I like the look of them and got a good deal.

I can recommend the Hepco Becker bars. I laid the loaded bike down once on them, sliding through a gravel turn, and while I needed to repaint them where I crashed, they didn't budge or bend, and the bike didn't have another scratch (only my Pelican pannier had a little scuff mark)

The dealer offered a really good deal on Givi bars so went down that route, I've test them on my Strom and was happy with how they stood up to it (paint is a bit thin though). Just need a couple more farkles to be fitted and I can have it ::012::

I've fitted Givi as I like the way they wrap around the side panels. On previous bikes when bars have started to rust I've had them powder coated by a local firm which provided a much better finish than the original .

Rumbux is worth the hassle!
Not if we in the EU have to pay over double what you guys pay and then not get to ride any real off roading trips, as most in EU are green lanes and absolutely forbidden in Switzerland! So it would be only for paved roads and minor parking lot tip overs.................

I agree they look fantastic but I spent less on all the extra's for my S10 than the Rumbux would have cost me including shipping and that's without the extortionate import duty the UK government would charge depending on what kind of mood they are in!
