A 300 mile day trip over Berthoud pass, thru Winter Park and Granby with a side trip to Grand Lake to check on the fire damage. I did not see any fire or smoke, but could smell it. Only saw 1 burned out house. Once back to Granby, I headed west to Kremmling then south thru Silverthorne, Dillon, Frisco and Breckenridge. South of Hoosier Pass I found a county road that took me to Montgomery reservoir (water supply for Colorado Springs). The temps on the east side of Berthoud pass were in the low 50's, they went down into low 30's on the north side and stayed there until south of Kremmling.
Grand Lake with mirror smooth water.
The fire got close to down town Grand Lake. The hillside is on the north end of town
Heading south out of Kremmling
Green Mountain reservoir is a little low.
Montgomery reservoir. The road goes up the valley in the distance, right of center to another smaller lake.
You can see the cut for Hwy 9 right above the water line. Lots of little roads to explore someday in the valley going down towards Alma.
