Had another one of those disgusting 75*F Texas winter days, so I took the day off yesterday and headed for the hills!

My 10 year old had his first spin on the back today out to the coast. He approves of the purchase. He says it's much more comfortable than the S1000R. I think it's all in his head. ::025::

Did a nice 300 mile loop from Atlanta to the Talladega National Forest in balmy 68 degree weather. We put the big bikes to the test on some of the best gravel roads and rutted Jeep tracks. Good practice for a Colorado trip we are planning.

Nice that in times of such divisiveness and polarization three guys on a KTM, a GS, and a Tenere can have fun together.

On Saturday rode about 80 miles of gravel/dirt/sand on Juno and Pandale roads after leaving Sonora on the way down to Langtry, TX. Stopped for a break at Flat Rock Crossing Store in Pandale. Had a Ducati Multistrada and 2 Africa Twins for company.

Temps last 2 weeks in the 60s....took a 5 hour loop last week; 4 hour loop today, through southern Indiana.

50/50 dirt/gravel and pavement, combination of twistys, fire service roads and hills....and two excellent water crossings.

I would be interested in seeing the tracks...

There's two at this link.

Both start in New Albany - 5 hour loops around 65....4 hour just goes north of 65.

Both have water crossings and lots of dirt/gravel.

Hearing about the cold everywhere I was fortunate to get to ride this long weekend. In California we get taxed to death and I envy those of you with nice campgrounds by a lake or stream.
This was leaving Ojai on the 33 toward Lockwood and as you can see the fire destroyed what little shade we get. This was only a small part of the massive Thomas fire that swept thru this area.
