Thankfully we live in the rural midwest, I can ride all day and not get anywhere even remotely close to another human.
I for one have to be really careful about this or any virus, We have a granddaughter with no immune system at all. She has went through all the test and they say she will grow out of it.
But My wife and I watch the older three on the weekends to give their mom a brake. Their mom is very picky and for good reasons about not letting anyone near our littlest granddaughter or any of them that could bring something home. If I even had to go to the store for something I would lose the privilege to get near our girls. My wife works from home and that has been great. I can't even get close to my boy. He works at a hospital [with no cases of the virus]. It will be nice when this is all over. I feel sorry for any of you that live in them big cities.

Yesterday 150 miles round trip. Half way stop was for this.

Had a Texas DPS car pull in next to me. He rolled down his window to do his order (Sonic, the only restaurant prepped for this), looked at me hard and asked “what are you doing out? Don’t you know there is a stay at home order out?”
My response was quick. (Wiseass meter hit the peg) “I’m socially distancing myself from my wife!”
His response “That’s the best excuse I’ve heard all day!”

I think it has woken a lot of people up about how thin the barrier is. Hopefully that will be enough for the next thing.

Saw a dude in full MOPP driving his car down the street, serious moment of WTF. Like you said, lights are on, foods rolling, I went to McDonald's for breakfast this morning.... If this were real I don't even want to think about it...
McDonald’s are actually open in Las Vegas ? All Restaurants around here have been closed for a couple weeks, only drive through service .

So they're not actaully closed then..All our restaurants in NZ closed at lock down 8 days ago.

Everything is drive through / pickup / delivery only. No eating inside. From McDonald's to a place with Michelin Stars. Not joking, a super fancy 7 course tasting menu type menu place is doing takeout, because they are not in a casino, they were allowed to remain operational. Anything in a casino is closed.

Its on the restaurants to decide if they want to do curbside or delivery service to keep operations going. Here in Boulder City, Starbucks and Capriotti's are closed (our Starbucks doesn't have arrive through), while the local BBQ restaurant is offering curbside pick up.

See, that's what both makes me happy, and pisses me of at the same time. Texas has the "stay at home order" in place. With an asterisk. You, CAN go get groceries, meds, car fixed, take a walk through your neighborhood, and such. You CAN'T go IN to a restaurant, theater, gym, drive through your neighborhood. and such. So, all of our drive thru places are doing a booming business. (I've never been a fan of drive thru service, and especially now with the virus) It still come down to the honor system. It's great that I can still get food and necessities. Because I will stay home otherwise. But, if you're a turd, and don't care if you're infected or if you infect anybody, you can just say you're going to the store. . . . and it's ok. I still don't understand why a "walk" is ok, and a "ride/drive" is not.

Texas sounds like the kind of soft lockdown we have in the UK. Essential travel, food, meds and exercise are officially the only acceptable reasons to be outdoors. The fast food drivethroughs are all shut but I suspect the reason is so it doesn't tempt people to just go out for a takeaway.

The Arizona Governor had a town hall last night, spending most of his time NOT answering questions. With our stay at home order, they issued a list of ESSENTIAL businesses, which includes hair and nail salons. When asked why these were considered essential, he would not answer and kept talking about social distancing (They were all sitting a good 12 ft apart).

I guess the only excuse we need is "I'm on my way to get a manny/peddy!"

You better hurry, he just changed his mind. Closed effective 5pm tomorrow. He realized how foolish he looked.

To be fair down here you CAN go get groceries some supermarkets have paywave only , self serve, or have physical barriers at the check out, keep your 2meter distance, alot will only let in 'X' amount and out. Pharmacies are open and the staff there use face shields and 1 at a time customers - a 2meter gap while you wait.

You can go out and walk / run/ cycle around your own neighbourhood keeping 2meters apart, you cannot drive/motorcycle to an exercise place.
But there are shidheads surfing, mountain biking and doing other activities , they are unecessarily putting ambo staff etc at risk if they stuff up , and they are

Where i live people are respectfull of keeping distances , the roads are deserted its easy to walk on the road to pass fellow walkers/runners while exercising.:)

took the ST to walmart today for top ramen and water;). Seeing way more tweakers then usual. It was strange to see most everyone wearing masks and lines had 6 foot apart signs. There was a sound blast outside talking about the 6 foot rule. However when passing through walk ways and isle your closer to 2 ft. Plus even when wearing gloves your still touching everything with your gloves like shopping karts, food, and handles. So that would mean disinfecting your food before putting it into your car , yourself because your cloths might have come in contact with something or someone and tossing your gloves in a dirty bag everytime;).

I wear gloves right now when shopping because I'm on the bike and going to touch my face 10 billion times before getting home. I'm not worried about contact with products on the shelf and bagging. Im worried about contact with the shopping cart handle, the credit card machine things that are high touch zones.

ya but the gloves are a source of a contact and with some people they might think about how it effects them. If any anything social distancing is the best but however not practical for most. So it seems unless you have stocked up for months then you will exposed in some fashion. I have excepted the fact that I might get sick because I want to continue to ride. Although social distancing was something I was already doing before this. I notice for the major of the public it is unpractical. In the end its a personal choice to protect yourself for what might happen or not and that criticizing others is a waste of time.

Probably because you brought up the question..... now all those folks looking forward to getting their mani's and pedi's are going to be mad at you! :p
Tattoo Parlors were also "essential" in the same edict, since removed. Now I'm going to have to take up golf, since that's still allowed while keeping social distancing.
