Hi! It's finally true, the driving season has started in Finland too! The sun was shining nicely and the temperature was +15 C today, not bad . I've been waiting for this moment all long winter and I'm going to enjoy the coming summer as much as possible with my Tenere! :)

A few photos from today, the lakes are still frozen...

Four Peaks Trail, finally got it done for this year. We have had a lot of rain and snow, but the trail was in good shape. Mountains are really green and flowering. Roosevelt reservoir on the other side is full. FYI, the Four peaks is the profile on Arizona license plates.

Taking it for its yearly MOT* today. It’s been serviced and had some preventative maintenance over the winter months, fully expecting it to pass. Will also get a chance to try out my new heated jacket.

*For non Brits, MOT is our yearly official roadworthy test. We must have one to legally use the bike on public roads.

Went to visit my mom, who's in hospital for a hip replacement. It's 150 miles away, and a short hop over the provincial border to cheap-ass beer. Glad I brought ratchet straps along! 48 degrees and 30mph winds. Glad I brought heated gear. Be prepared ! There is still quite a bit of snow on the ground, but it's disappearing at an encouraging rate.

ps-this was at the big Salmon, in Campbellton NB, one of the bonus points of the 2017 IBR

No, 60 cans. About fifty pounds. It's not great beer, but it's cheap beer.
You're right about the quality. It's my drinkin' buddy neighbor's favorite, and I tease him often. About his beer, and the 'Wing he rides. But I've never even seen a (60) count case.

What's wrong with riding a Wing? It's a do just about anything bike and nothing beats it if I feel like wandering off for 3 weeks for 6 to 10,000 miles before I come home. I have my 1984 standard that I bought new and a 2015 Airbag model to do that on. Now I can do that on my CBR 1100XX Super Black Bird too but only if I am purposely going for more than normal twisty roads far away or meeting up with some sport bike buddies far away... but now I am finding out that the Tenere is capable too but as I have 50/50 tires on it, it's main purpose is to be off road and on tarmac only to get to the next dirt road. The important thing is to ride. People like Harleys and I don't mind looking at them but you'll never catch me riding one by choice... but I have buddies who love them. To each his own. I have lived through the 60's through the 90's rice burner vs American iron attitude wars, etc, etc. I'm glad that's mostly behind us. I love seeing Harleys, Goldwings and sport bikes in a group going down a road out for a ride. I think it's wonderful. Let's not start the wars up again.

I don't have anything against Gold Wings. I tease him because as big as the bags are on the 'Wing, he can't put a (24) count case of 12oz cans in them. Meanwhile, my little ol' Tenere with the OE boxes can swallow a case per side.

But if he wanted to he could pull a trailer full!

My Goldwing can very easily haul two 24 packs on the passenger seat, maybe even three but I never tried that.

Great photos of your ride. I use to live in Tucson many years ago and rode my Honda 650 thumper on many of those back roads around the Catalina’s- great memories. What brand engine protection bars are those and where did you get them? I’m looking for a pair for my 2017 Super Tenere.

Mastech crash bars came with the bike when I bought it used. Not sure they make them anymore. The engine protection/skid plate is RideOnAdv by @~TABASCO~. He can also recommend crash bars I'm sure.

I highly recommend T-Rex crashbars and skid plate, very well made right here in the USA and lower cost than most any other brand, they have a almost unbelievable list of products they build for all kinds of motorcycles.
