Awesome!
I really wanted to include "Sheep Bridge" when I was there in October, but wasn't in the cards.
Did you ride across it?
Looks like a great ride!

We talked about riding over but did not. Not sure about the legality. There is room to turn around on the other end. We figured if @eemsreno makes it out, he'll probably wheelie across. There were some motorcycle tire marks on it.

I'm pretty sure it's legal.
There's lots of videos of people riding across it, and there's no signs that prohibit it. (as far as I know)
I'll get back there one day.

Next time! No signs posted. It is quite a ride to get there. All the weekend traffic definitely slowed things down. If you make it out again plan on a weekday. It's one of those rides you got to pick your line and ride it. If someone stops in front of you it can be a problem. Some idiot had a minivan smoking tires over one rough section.

Does the road construction on Apache Trail mean it is going to be reopened?
2 more miles are open so you can get to the Reavis Ranch trail head. The current construction is installing new culverts where there were more temporary fixes on the Eastern section. The state is about ready to release a feasibility study on repairing the remaining ~6 miles from the trailhead through to the Fish Creek Overlook. It's a lot of politics and risk/liability assessment. It could have been repaired to its previous condition without all this delay.
If anyone wants to eventually ride this historic road, please sign the petition:

Agreed that this could have been repaired easily quite some time ago.
The last time I rode it all the way through was May-2019. I was lucky, and rode it twice that week I was there.................It closed a few months after that, and has been just sitting there closed ever since.

It wasnt today but rode to work Friday. Then friday night rode home in probably the highest wind i have ever rode in here in ky. Probably the highest wind i have ever rode in. Trees snapping off power poles and lines snapping off. Roofs and shingles flying with other sorts of things. The wind screen at times was flexing so hard i thought it may break. I had to run a gear and sometimes two gears lower than i normally do to keep the heavy crank spinning fast. That helped me keep the bike straight and kept it from stalling. Made it home safe! The super T did a great job for me. I dont know what i rode in but the news said 70 to 76 mph wind. That was my little adventure this weekend! Spent the rest of the time fixing my roof and checking on family.

Last weekend.... Metcalf OHV park just South of San Jose, CA. I've lived in the South Bay for 30+ yrs and I'd never been there. And just about as long since I’ve ridden in dirt.
It was a bit of an eye opener as even the Green/Easy trails were not just smooth dirt roads but were mostly dry with a few puddles (and my ABS/TC is currently non-functional).
I was there early so the park was mostly empty so I did a few laps with no other traffic. I did confirm that my radiator fan and temperature light are functioning but the temp quickly recovered once I got moving…
My Shinko 705s did ok but I was sure I had a flat in the rear at one point but nope… just some mud and I did not air them down for this quick visit.
Anyway, next time I’ll leave the top box off and go when it is completely dry as some of the easy trails were still closed due to CA’s ongoing rainy season.

Went out with the wife and SxS this morning scouting difficulty of some trails.

Got home early enough for a "short" ride out to Montana Mountain.
Went as far as I could in the time available.
Have I ever mention how much I hate it when they grade these trails? I headed down a long curved steeper hill now covered in loose rock and thought to my self "This will be an interesting climb back up." Sure enough, coming out there was no clean line and ground to a stop. I was able to work it over to the side grove left by the grader and finally spun my way up and free. I really hate loose rock inclines. The water was running so some good crossings.
