just wondering if anyone has had an issue with the rim "pitting" on the S10, particularly rear brake side of back wheel.

Also, spokes have gone mega furry....look about 100 years old........

Any ideas ?

Also, some of the bolts around the bike are far from in good condition, also furred up.. :'(

( i clean the bike regular, so Im a little stumped)

tks in advance

Re: Wheel Rim & Spoke Corrosion ( oxidation )

WHEN you clean it, and WHAT you clean it with, may have something to do with it, just saying. I keep water off my bike unless it is really dirty from off road riding. Otherwise it's either a clear spray wax, or Pledge sprayed on it after I ride, and then it's wiped down. Living in coastal Florida, there is always salt in the air so bike finishes have to stay protected. Over the years, I have cleaned my bikes using just about every method there is, and what I do now works best for me. Having a garage to keep it in is a godsend, but the real trick is to always wipe your bike down AFTER you're done riding, not waiting until you're ready to ride it the next time.
