Looking at getting the 1200 are there any years to avoid, what is the best year to go for there seems to be a varied choice out there for the mileage and years.
The Super Tenere is a good solid bike for all model years, so none to specifically avoid. The 2014 and newer Gen 2 models have some nice improvements however.Philips78 said:Looking at getting the 1200 are there any years to avoid, what is the best year to go for there seems to be a varied choice out there for the mileage and years.

Not if you are in Europe, I know what I have, and UK/EU spec is different to US/ Canada spec.RED CAT said:They all come with a center stand. Seats are the same. Get a 2014 or newer Gen 2 bike. Better all around. Only difference between an ES and Standard are Heated Grips and Electronic Suspension. All the Gen 2 bikes have Electronic Cruise Control.
Better all around? that is your opinion not fact as far as my opinion is concerned..RED CAT said:They all come with a center stand. Seats are the same. Get a 2014 or newer Gen 2 bike. Those differences such as seat and passenger hand rails only apply to the models sold outside of the US, such as Europe. The only difference between the ES and non-ES models for the US is electronic suspension and heated gripsyoyo said:Didn't realise the difference in the passenger seat, might have to look into changing my non ES one as the Mrs claims it's not very comfortable
