i usually crank her up above 5000 when I am riding a good twisty road...The other day on the way home from camping I kept her at 3500 to 4000 rpm and I think it actually made me faster not to be pushing the bike so hard...Anybody else??
Never really thought about it but i know i like to keep the revs slightly higher because i like the engine braking coming into a corner and roll-on power coming out. I've never looked down at tach in a corner but i would say just below 5000.
I also stick to the 3500-4000 range - the torque is just so smooth and ample for me, and gives a bit of security by not being too punchy or quick, so I feel relatively secure and in control.
Just love riding this bike!!!! ::001::

In a good twisty set, I like to slow revs to 4500 and get to the good power band 5000-6500 and repeat for next corner. Your gear will indicate how tight the corner is to maintain these rpm's. Most time on public roads POSTED 35-45mph 3rd to 4th work well. I know I am in good power envelope when coming out of a turn and the yellow light flashes....it just sounds good too!
Spend most my time between 3k and 5k, but with the Arrows and Flash it now makes more power lower down (by 6k is making more than the stock peak - 1500 rpm earlier)
I would guess I probably used an extra 500 - 1000rpm when it was bog stock, so probably 3500 - 6000 - just I now go quicker with even less effort
