Hey all ! Who has an aftermarket end can on their S10 ? i pick a XT1200ZE up on the 6th march and am looking at end cans.
The Akra seems far to expensive for what it is and the Yoshi sems the cheaper option.
What cans havr you got and how do you rate them and where did you get them from and how much ??
I hear some of you have other brands fitted ?

I picked up a Staintune directly from the company in Australia. They make very nice products with good sound, some weight reduction, and no repacking. It may be just a tad louder than stock. For pricing, you might want to check to see if you have a distributor in the UK or what your direct price would be. My price in the US would be quite a bit different than yours.

I have a LeoVince Carbon on my S10. Bought it new from a trade seller on eBay and paid around £275 for it October 2012. It's light and good looking and now makes a noise like a 1200cc twin, not a domestic appliance. It will need a repack every so often (LeoVince reckon every 20k but i'll do mine at 10k and see) but it's an easy job to do and the importers have kits in stock for around £35.

I have a carbon fibre tri-oval Simmi can on mine ( http://www.simmiperformance.co.uk/ ). They are based near me and are made 100% locally and they are a very good fit. It's not Akrapovic quality, but it's not Akrapovic price either - mine was only £170 ! It sounds superb too, much gruntier than stock, slightly louder but not excessive and it weighs toss all. No noticeable difference in power or delivery but it looks and sounds better.

I have an Akra on mine which I managed to get for £580 on Ebay from a company in Italy, including delivery. I know this is still a significant sum of money but the cheapest I could get it in the UK or elsewhere was £670

I just have Arrow Headers as I got them second hand for about half price.

They are a lot lighter and have no cats so this is where power can be gained, arrow only claim 2.5BHP for the end can, but 9BHP for their full system. I dyno'd mine pre and post header fitment and got 6BHP just from the headers.

The only problem is they cause a surge at very low throttle / rpm (like trying to hold 2000 rpm in low gears) and it took ages to find someone who could fix it with an ECU Remap, but if you want power this is the way to go, I am now about 15BHP up from stock with just the headers and a custom re-map.

Fancy an Arrow can to finish off, but too tight to pay new money.

Complete exhaust is mine Front to back . You truly can,t buy a exhaust that really makes real power .

I got 6BHP just adding the headers, which on a bike with under 90BHP is a fair gain, but it really does need setting up properly, I expect a good remap with the stock exhaust would free up 3-5BHP as they are very rich standard.

I think an Arrow System with Fuelling set right would give at least 10, CJS think a fair proportion of the extra power they found on mine came from optimising the ignition timing and mapping each cylinder separately (and probably because they spent so long getting it exactly right, this was about 5 hours dyno development on top of their standard flash)

Ive got a Youshimora but its to loud. Bought it second hand, so took it apart to redo the wadding it but its like new inside so put my standard can back on for now. Has anyone any idea how i could just reduce the loudness and still keep the great sound ? if that makes sense.

Most exhausts sold these days have a removable baffle that reduces noise. It's possible that because you bought yours second hand it had already been removed and the seller didn't give the baffle to you.

I have a MIVV which was far too loud.

Made a baffle by getting chicken wire and rolling it into a sausage shape. Shove it in the pipe before the so called silencer.
You can adjust it to suit. If you dont like it, easy, take it out..

This is what the Arrow db killer made of stainless that fits in the end of the can looks like, all it does is restrict and break up the gas flow with holes on the sides of it and a larger hole than you can see on the sides at the other end. Maybe some sort of modification to the carbon end of your can could be made to produce a similar result?

Thanks Frez that's just about the same as I have in the back of the yoshimora but with out the holes in the side pipe was wondering if I extended that pipe and or packed some wire wool around it down the Center of the baffles
