Hi guys - I bought my First Edition S10 about 18 months (12k miles)ago fully equipped with the Yamaha accessory list and since then I have been slowly adapting it to suit me and the type of riding that I do (a bit of tarmac commuting, weekends away and some light green lane work).

So far I have;
- replaced the yamaha engine guards with SW Motech ones because I didnt like how they got in the way of my legs at the side of the engine
- fitted an MRA screen and Touratech adjustable mount - took some time but I am finally happy with the screen protection at speed
- changed the handlebars for WRP enduro bars and fitted bar risers - the standard bars felt like they swept back too much and made my wrists ache
- with the narrower bars I needed to fit mirror extenders because all I could see was my arms
- Heated grips fitted (Oxford)
- Fender extender fitted to front and a home made guard fitted to rear right side under the seat where the water and mud soaks your inside leg
- after trying a few options I have now opted for Heidenau K60 tyres as the best option for the type of dual riding that I do
- I am still using the Yamaha side cases but have fitted a SW Motech rear rack and MTrax top box as I found the Yamaha one a little too small to take my Arai Xtour helmet
- oh and some nice decals from Wasp!

So, I dont think that there is much left to do......at least that is what the wife thinks!

I am considering the Altrider bash plate or similar - any suggestions are welcome
I have seen some rear suspension link plates that raise the rear of the bike and put more weight on the front - has anyone tried this, thoughts??

If it was yours......what would you consider doing next - open to suggestions

Here are a few pics

You forgot the free Clutch Switch Mod. ::001::
Yep, best bang for the buck mod available.

I think raising the rear 10-20mm would be good on the road, but not so sure if extra weight on the front and quicker geometery would not be counter productive off-road, although I know little about off-roading so see if someone more knowledgeable comments.

Thanks Guys - some good considerations there.

Jaime - awesome! I love the exhaust system and plenty of ideas to develop it into a real world crosser! Thanks

Kinda disappointing it takes 2 grand of upgrades to make this pig run like it should stock.

Free clutch mod is a joke in my opinion. Ive tried it both ways running back to back and I cant tell ANY difference in power. In fact the front wheel comes up just a tad higher in first WITHOUT the clutch mod or jumper fuse in place. Plus the drivability goes way down with the fuse in place.
I dont think it works and I have had MANY sport bikes. I know what real power is and that jumper mod doesnt do anything.

Pretty sure there are dyno runs showing it does...I'm too lazy on the iPad to look it up. Butt dynos are worthless as are wheelie lift heights

You should be aware the combination of a SW Motech skid plate and a Fender Extenda has had bad results for many of us. At full front compression of the suspension some have experienced the Fender Extenda getting wedged in the skidplate. This causes the handlebars to lock in place and the bike is basically impossible to steer. It happened to my wife on her Tenere on a bump on dirt road. There is a thread around here on the topic.

He said "Butt dyno's" are worthless. I'm pretty sure he's talking about the seat of the pants feeling, not the technology. ::003::

Clutch mod does something. Plenty of debate on what and how......but it definitely does something. You don't notice?

And I still have 1 of many Sport Bikes.

You are definitely right that the S10 is no sport bike. Neither is the bike it is aimed directly at to compete with.

yeah no doubt - without getting into another long winded discussion on it, do you know where the posts are of the dyno results of it? i can't find it using the search and i'd like to save it - doesn't take much for me to get confused...
