Strange as it sounds, of the 30 motorcycles I've owned, they've never had a name. I personally find it odd giving an inanimate object a name... But to each his/her own..

When I tell my girlfriend I'm going for a ride and she asks "on which bike" I usually call back "on the big one" when I am refering to the S-10.

My FZ-1 is "the blue one" and my DR-650 is "the small one".

This is the first for me, I always kicked the idea of naming a bike or car but never did. I'm not sure if I picked Bertha because of the Big Bertha Golf Club (I don't Golf) or from Two and Half Men. I kinda figured since I named parts of my anatomy...LOL

Mine is a '13 white and it looks like a big goat, so I nicknamed her "Cabritona" (female) which means "Big goat" in Portuguese. If it was male would have to be "Cabritão".

Tenere is "the pig". 500 EXC is "the beast". Neither is a formal name, just kind of evolved as nicknames. I don't get emotionally attached to these things. They're just tools, but damn fun tools!!

She was dubbed "Fancy" by my riding buddy Dave on the first day I brought her out - I had been on a KLR. She spent a fair amount of time "resting" on her side that day and came home covered in mud. It was just the first of many rides on the BDITW. I kinda like the name and have kept it - I think it belies her true nature.

Not that I really use names much, but my 08 FJR was the Black Bullet, and my 12 ST is the Blue Rhino...
