Howdy YST'ers ,
My wife and I always name our bikes. Our last bike ( a 1998 GL1500SE Honda Golgwing in Candy Spectra Red ) was affectionately known as: "Big Red". So my wife and I decided to find a name for our new YST and we came up with one. Since the YST is a Dual Sport Adventure bike made for World Touring and exploring new places , we decided to name it "Magellan" after the Portuguese Explorer " Ferdinand Magellan".
Does anyone else name their rides and if so , what name did you give it ?

Glad you started this thread. We've been trying to figure out if we should christen it ::024:: or not, if it's a boy or a girl name and if we should use champagne or rum in the naming ceremony. At least, since it was new off the showroom, we don't have to go through an un-naming ceremoby as well (although more rum never hurts).
Tried a lot of different "blue. . . . . " names, and "Tenerezilla" just doesn't work like it should.
For those that are familiar with the series "Chuck", we're close to naming it "Casey"; strong, dedicated to the mission and somewhere a softer side. Either that, or "Papa Smurf"! C:)

Haven't seen that show , but sounds like a worthy name. :) I think if we had got the black color YST we would have named it Raven.

Never done it. Never thought about it. BUT ... an appropriate name at this point might be: "Blue Mistress". ;)

Mistress Allegany after her namesake Allegheny mountains where she spends most of her time.

So named on her virgin voyage ride home from the shop. The route was along the east toe of the Alleghenies for 200 miles. Why female?...too composed, competent and confident to be male. :)
