2024 trips sorted! Always good having a bike trip to look forward to.

Late June, 6 of us on 5 bikes, S1000XR, 1290SAS, 1250RT, an early ish 800 Tiger and myself, riding down through France heading to the Pyrenees, probably picking it up near Andorra, the riding along it towards the Atlantic, before catching the ferry home, from Bilbao. Early idea is down through the Vosges before heading west via the Gorge Du Tarn.

Mid Sept, a week in the Picos with a different 1290SAS and a 1290GT. Ferry to and from Santander.

Likely heading to Australia in November….no bike of course. Need to fit a Wales jaunt in somewhere as well.

Looks good! I was actually discussing the trip with the people I’m going with today and advised them this is somewhere I want to visit. They’re keen as well. It’s added to the Gorge Du Tarn, Carcassonne as things to see and do.

I also discovered that we (UK) now require an IDP to drive/ride in Andorra.

Any of you that go camping to Scotland I can reccomend Cannich woodland camping.I stayed there for 3 nights last year and it is a lovely quiet spot.I always seem to get great weather when I ride up to Scotland. It cost £10 a night last year in May.

hi boris i googled this IDP think and it says this below i always have my driving liscence with me and this say either

You need either an international driving permit ( IDP ) or a valid UK driving licence to drive in Andorra as a tourist. You cannot buy an IDP outside the UK, so get one before you travel. You can buy an IDP in person from some UK post offices – find your nearest post office branch that offers this service

Rob, .gov website says otherwise.
I suspect it’s as a result of the gift that keeps on giving, otherwise known as Brexit

It seems there’s conflicting information on the .Gov site regarding Andorra. On the Andorra only section it suggests no need for an IDP if holding a full photo licence. On the .Gov IDP section it suggests an IDP is required for Andorra.

I’ll probably get an IDP as I’d be miffed if turned away at the border.
