Another season behind us, another winter looking forward to what next year brings.

What bike trips are people planning for 2024?

I currently have nothing planned, but a few ideas are rattling about in my head. I don’t feel that I’m done with the PICOS, need a revisit, perhaps early or late in the season. The Route Napoleon and that region have been calling me, including the whole Route Des Grande Alpes. Or ferry to Spain, along the Pyrenees and home through France. Romania is on the list as well, but more likely in 2025.

I would like to go to Romania too...
But it ain't going to happen before 2025 either.
I would like to visit Istanbul too on the same trip seeing that I would be heading that way.
We will see.
I might come to Wales too to pay a visit to a member here next year...

I plan on exploring the San Rafael Swell in Utah this spring and then a few BDRs in the fall, likely the NMBDR or COBDR. If I can get the hall pass from work to ride up to Alaska for the summer solstice, everything else gets thrown out the window.

Let me know if you do come over, I’m not far away from Steven (Treeman) and hopefully I’ll join you- subject to having recovered from surgery early next year☹
Romania is on my list too

Wife and I are booked to take the Moho and bike to north wales for Easter which will include a day out for me at MickExtance offroad school. Early July I’m booked to take a group of 11 guys from another forum I frequent to a mates B+B in Arromanches for a few days visiting the Normandy beaches and the area, something I’ve done many times with my local Iam group, who I’ll also be taking in September again.
That group will probably be doing a Moffat trip in April/May again and Valencia Oct/Nov too. I may do a Scarborough weekend at some point too.
Late July will be our main hols to Scotland with the Moho and bike as usual.

2024 trips sorted! Always good having a bike trip to look forward to.

Late June, 6 of us on 5 bikes, S1000XR, 1290SAS, 1250RT, an early ish 800 Tiger and myself, riding down through France heading to the Pyrenees, probably picking it up near Andorra, the riding along it towards the Atlantic, before catching the ferry home, from Bilbao. Early idea is down through the Vosges before heading west via the Gorge Du Tarn.

Mid Sept, a week in the Picos with a different 1290SAS and a 1290GT. Ferry to and from Santander.

Likely heading to Australia in November….no bike of course. Need to fit a Wales jaunt in somewhere as well.

I really must get around to dedicating a trip to touring Bavaria and Austria. I have been to both, but never really spent much time exploring. My first ever trip into Europe as a kid, was with the school on a skiing trip to Austria, a little town called Pertisau, the country always seems special to me.

My pleasure.
I think to remember you have to pay 5€ to go to the " bridge" facing the valley but in my opinion it's worth it.
The place is on a awesome twisted road to go up to and very close to the entrance there is a small parking lot for few motorbikes.

The passion play is only ever done on a year ending in the number 1. Used to drink a weissbier with the Oberammergau fest label on it. Cant remember the name of the beer, probably drank way too much, in fact no probably about it.
