looks like some cupping going on as well .... bulges ,swelling , knots and anything that looks odd is probably a sign that the tire is not happy . under inflation , running over edge objects , jumping curbs , pot holes and the list goes on.... can damage the internal structure of the tire , some times it never shows up other times it does .... the tire was telling Wheeling a lot , he lucky it still held pressure . think about all a tire does to keep us safe and happy .
tires can be damaged early in life and failure occurs and we blame a good tire that probably was damaged in some way while on our bikes . and because it's a new tire with lots of tread we blame the manufacture .... not saying a new tire cant fail , but normally they work just fine .... had 2 brand new Tenere's in my life both ended up with nails in the back tires the first 1000 miles , must be the tires , only OEM tires do that , not had a nail in any other tire I've mounted in 9 years of Tenere ownership .... I have Shinkos on my new Tenere , work great , nails are afraid of them , but front showing a little cupping starting .... at least they were cheap (in expensive I mean ) ....
