Headed to yellowstone soon and wanted to get a new rear tire and have them look at why by Cruise Control light was flashing and would not set. I told them I heard a lot of time it has to do with the brakes. The Tech said he thought I could use rear brake pads at 13,000 I thought...really? I was right...but then I looked at the old pads and I would say the had 30% left maybe more, I never saw the new ones before install so just a guess. The Tech said he though it was just a fluke and I had bigger issues they could not get the computer hooked up to read the fault codes so just guess work. The fuses seamed good except a fuse marked OP in the fuse box was blown...replaced that but didn't seem to affect anything? Now with the new pads installed the Cruise control works fine but the turn signals won't flash or the hazards? Is it possible all these Items are using one control module? Do I have a flasher on 2014 ES? Thanks for the help guys.

I just pulled the switches and cleaned the contacts or the best I COULD with contact cleaner and some small dielectric grease. Any other comments about why they wont flash?

Check the simple stuff first. The brake pedal sticking would cause all of these issues. If the brake light is on, the flashers don't work and the CC won't set. Not sure about the turn signals. And this is a common issue. A little cleaning and lubing usually fixes things.

Check to see if your brake pedal is returning fully by itself. Double check to see if the brake light is on when you don't have the pedal or lever depressed. Clean/lube/adjust as needed to correct that, if you find an issue. Then see how things go.

Thanks for the idea's...I checked the front and rear brake switches they are working...The turn signals only light up on the instrument cluster and flash faster than they usually do. I was told the 2014 does not have a flasher and I can't confirm that?

Thanks again guys!

DryRider, had a similar issue with my 2015, and what EricV suggested above was the solution...
with a flashers a turn signals, I would suggest pulling and checking every fuse, other than that I am at a loss.....

They still need a flasher module, but if I recall correctly, the 2014 and up has LED front/conventional rear flashers? The fast flash is consistent with a blown bulb, so try disconnecting your turn signals, then connect them back one at a time, and see if you get normal operation back.

OP I think is an option fuse for lights or an alarm, don't know why it was blown though

I doubt a fault with one indicator LED would affect the whole system, it would just cause issues on that side of the bike

the only other thing I can think of is the left hand switch cluster which is a common area for both the CC and indicators, has it been taken apart or pressure washed recently, maybe worth having it apart if you are good with a load of small fiddly bits?

Shop called today and asked me to check to see if I was getting power to the signals...I tried my best to locate the front connectors and found them both, each had 3 pins two of the pins had power but I am a pretty poor tech with the meter settings however I believe they are working the park lights work however that is probably separate from the signals I pulled the fuse from park lights and confirmed power to one of the pins the other 3 one must be ground. Service tech said the power comes from the instrument cluster no power could mean bad cluster...not good for me...its a back order part not due till september...he said to not jump ahead ::021:: they are waiting for Yamaha to reply to them for further trouble shooting tips. I will keep you posted and thank you so much for the interest.
