I bought my 2014 non-es back in May having spent several weeks watching CycleTrader, FB Marketplace and Craigslist ads across much of the western US. One bike that came on my radar was a white 2014 at a dealership in Texas asking $6500. It had a distinctive decal on the exhaust. I didn't think white was offered in 2014 so posted a pic in a forum asking for an opinion on whether it really was a 2014. Turned out somebody recognized the bike and directed me to a Texas based forum where the previous owner had listed it for private sale for $5500. That owner had previously owned a white 2013. He bought a 2014 and swapped the tanks etc resulting in the unique white 2014. Turns out he wasn't able to sell it privately but traded it in (or sold) to a dealer in Texas. Then via auction or direct sale it moved to the dealer where I saw it listed at $6500. It sat there for a while then one day it popped up on Facebook Marketplace at dealership outside San Diego asking $7200. It has since sold or moved on from there. It was just interesting to track this unique bike as it moved around. I'm guessing this is actually a pretty common story.

I traded my fjr for a tenere at a dealer in Tifton Ga. I watched it to see if they sold it and the manager told me they sold it to a dealer in Atlanta for more than they were trying to sell it for. Guess it all depends on the area market.
The tenere had sat in the dealership for a long time. All they told me was months but it had cobwebs on it. When they saw I was interested, they told me to take it out because it needed to be ridden. One of my negotiating tactics was they would be more likely to sell the fjr. It took a few months of me annoying them but they finally accepted my lowball offer. lol

I sold my Ninja on consignment at a local dealer. It was pretty cool seeing a young man riding it right near where I worked. I guess mine did not move very far.
