Looking for a metal pillion-position rack e.g. Altrider or other.
You, me, and more than a few others. Some members have even built their own. See the "Any Options Available for a Rear Pillion Luggage Rack" discussion under the Super Tenere Luggage-Bags, Cases, Panniers title at the top of the Forum.Looking for a metal pillion-position rack e.g. Altrider or other.
So, I've been emailing with a rep at Altryder, Lyndell Jensen. He says they need to sell 100 Pillion racks to justify a run that'll make money. If we can get him 50 names and phone numbers, he can push it with the bosses. He has three or four folks now. His email is lyndell.j@altrider.com
Are you sure you want altryder ? Wasn’t Altryder the maker of the racks that were getting all the complaints about breaking and they wouldn’t warranty ? That’s probably the real reason why they quit making them.

1 yes, 2, nope, 3, nope, 4 not really. (I'm the one that needs to lose weight) 5, yep, 6 nope. So, let's look at it this way.
What does everyone want in a rear rack and pillion rack for the Super Tenere?
Please add to the list and I'll get something started as far as design.
- Tie down locations (RokStraps or similar)
- Givi hard luggage mounts?
- Snap lockable storage?
- Is overall weight a concern?
- Something that doesn't break...
- Does it need to be anodized or powder coated
I think 20 pieces to start would be doable.
