So following my recent issues with starting issues I'm going to install a dash panel from LB Products and add a voltmeter - looking for a dedicated voltmeter only any recommendations ?

On several of my recent bikes..Ive installed heated grips by BikeMaster (made by Koso). The mid priced model that includes a volt meter in the control diisplay. Very handy & several other adjustable features too. Cost me appx $75 new
I didnt use this model on the ten though. I think the grips were too short.
But longer grips from Koso /BikeMaster have the same connectors so an interchange is possible...if a bit pricy

I used the 3-pin auxiliary lighting plug (key-on). The key-on +ve and -ve also powers my LED driving lights and the relay trigger signals for my ABS defeat. Strictly speaking it's probably best to draw direct from the battery except that some of the meters draw current full time...might suck your battery dry over extended non-running time.

If you have no intention of running anything else, it might be easiest to tap into the cigar lighter wires (a 3A circuit) since it's right there.

If you're looking for a 3-pin plug set, let me know. I've got about 15 sets left and I can mail you one in a letter envelope. I've also got the right crimping tool so I could do the leads for you before sending.

Wymbly please see attached this is the back of the voltmeter that I bought to install onto my bike:
Question: since it only has 2 prongs ( +/- ) would this unit be turned on/off when the bike is running/off or will it draw power continuously ?

When I installed my dash panel, I also installed a dedicated 2x USB charging port that I got on Amazon...which insludes a voltage reading. The voltage value is accurate and so far the thing is holding up perfectly.

I use these as well. No special wiring, it just sits there doing it's job.

If it has it's own power button, it probably won't draw power when off. If the display stays on when hooked up, it's drawing power.

....you do have me curious now though. I have a 2nd one I will test and get back to you.

Totally depends what power source you attach it to. The cig outlet is switched power so works well and is not essential if there is a short or other failure.

Thanks to all: I was told by the electronics store where i bought this unit that if I wire it to an accessories outlet that the unit would turn on and off when the bike was running.
