Vibrations using rear brake after changing to K60s

Like the title says, I have put K60s on my 2013 S10 and now am getting vibrations when applying the brake at low speeds (worst at around 30-40mph). I am assuming this is just the tires but want to make sure if anyone else had experienced it. Thanks in advance.

I'm betting it's not the tires and that something is not correct with your rear brake caliper or pads. It will take you just a few minutes to loosen the bolts and check it all out. Better now than after something breaks. <pun>

I would agree, but I can't feel what you feel, so internet diagnosis is less than ideal. Check that the washer is in the correct location on the rear caliper, check that the brake pads are correctly installed. More than one rider has struggled getting the rear wheel on and accidentally got the both pads on one side of the rotor. ??? Check that the brake tension arm is strait and tight.

Did you have the wheel balanced with the K60 on there? (Or do it yourself?) I have once had a K60 rear that required a LOT of weight to balance. Worked and wore fine, but most of them are near perfect, this one was clearly not. Still got 12k from it though with most of that being street. :(

Thanks for the replys. Yeah the wheel/tire is balanced, it didn't need anything but it was run on the balancer.

Pads are definitely in the right place, so is the washer. It's also torqued correctly so I am little confused as to where this vibration is coming from. It's only under rear braking I get it. It's a relatively slow vibration and feels like something to do with the tread of the tire. I will check the tension on the brake arm later, that may have something to do with it however I always assemble with a torque wrench.

Just checked that before I read the post. Yes it is. The brake bar thing is tight too. The caliper has a little movement when wiggled with a lot of force but feels solid otherwise.

Caliper movement is normal, just ride it some more and the tread may bed in, I suspect, like you, it's the tread pattern and you are sensitive to it?

Might want to check the run out of your rear brake disc.

The run out would not have changed with the tires. The vibrations were instant after mounting the new tire. I really do think it's probably just the tread on the tire. I'm going to take the wheel off tonight and inspect everything again and see if I can find any issues.

When I installed K60's while in Whitehorse in 2012, I noticed the vibration at low speed braking and thought there was something wrong, but it was just the tire tread difference from the Tourance tires I was used to. I had no problems and got used to the tires. I had around 10K miles on the bike at the time.

Thanks for all the responses. I pulled the wheel off and made sure everything was correctly put together (as it was in the first place). Nothing was out of whack so I assume, like ST-venture did that this is just caused by running tractor tires on the S10.

Assuming the rotor did not get tweaked in the process.
Seems odd to me that you only get a vib when applying the rear brake. I would think a tread vibration would be there regardless of applying the rear brake or not.

The vibration on mine seemed more related to slow speed or slowing down and not the act of braking. All I've run on my bike since then is the K60's so I've gotten used to the vibrations (if they are still there).
