I'm thinking about a new bike. I ride an FJ09 right now and it is one of the first bikes I've owned that has fairly good legroom. Now I want something with a shaft and I find myself going too fast on the FJ. Anyone with 35" to 37" inseams out there that can comment on the long distance comfort legwise. I'm getting older (66 yo) and I'm thinking this might be my last bike. Hopefully I can ride another 10 years or so. Thanks for any insight you can give.

I am 6'4" with a 35" inseam. Here's what works for me, Sargent seat in high position, SW Motech footpegs in lower position, 30mm handlebar risers and Wunderlich adjustable shift lever.

6'4" with a 35 inch inseam & ride both the Tenere and a FJR, they both fit OK. What makes you think you will ride any slower on a 1200 cc?

I am 6'4" with a 36" inseam. Happy with the legroom. Seat in high position and bar risers.

Plenty of leg room. And....it is NOT a slow bike. Before I got mine, I too had the impression that it might be on the slow side. ??? Pleasantly surprised, and amazed. ::26::

I picked up my new (to me) 2016 ES today. Took the long way home (actually got lost outside Chicago) and put about 330 miles on her. I'm totally impressed. A little less total legroom than my FJ09 but less bend to the knees and very comfortable. I don't know what I was thinking about slowing down, this thing halls balls. What really surprised me was the vibration level is actually lower then the FJ. And I luv, luv, luv the cruise control. And quiet. Yes, I teally made the right move. This forum helped me pull the trigger. It's all you'se guys fault. Cheers.

with seat in high position ( 35 inch in seam ) great for short rides , for longer rides could use a little more room.... I need to try a lower peg but most of my riding seems to be local so just haven't done it yet... my last long trip was 900 miles of highway so my knees suffered a bit.... if not for highway pegs to stretch the legs it would have been more miserable..... its not a deal breaker for me its just one more farkle I need to do....

Thanks for all the replies. Madhatter, what is your highway pegs set-up? That is something I am absolutely up for.
